Yeah, which is why most companies offer it only before the game has been played for a certain amount of time. With Steam you can get a refund if you've played the game for two hours or less, on Origin you can get a refund within 24 hours of first launching the game.

It also has a script extender already, can't wait to see what people can do with this game, even though I'm still disappointed by the base game.

Sorry for having standards.

I would say the procedural generation they both use is massively different, I don't know why people keep comparing them.

@subtenko

I think I heard something about most of the gameplay videos they shared were from the PC version, and though I can't be sure I think they do look better than the leaked videos. Then again it could be that they just choose a really interesting and pretty world. I could be wrong.

@fiveby9

I'm going with the PC version just for the possibility of better draw distance and better FOV. Though if you're really drawn...

The price of digital games vs physical copies is the main one. Also DRM, you never actually own the games, PT being the biggest example. At least on pc games you can purchase SOME (hopefully more in the future) games on GOG which provide them DRM-free, and in the case of a companies servers ever going down you can apply cracks to the games so they still function to some degree.

The low requirements should be expected, but I'm rather disappointed they haven't shown what kinda settings will be available for the game.

Eh, the fact that it was a compressed 480p video didn't help. As long as in the PC version there is an option for FOV I'm golden because that is my biggest complaint about it, anything else is gravy for me.

I don't think they're naive, more so they most likely have a large amount of disposable income and would rather opt for instant gratification than waiting another week.

Last I heard the Play Anywhere platform/deal is cross-buying. You just have to buy a game once to play it on PC or Xbox.

Are they even remastered at all? Or are they just straight up ports with minimal improvements?

3479d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

yeah, it just kinda doesn't work right now. Take a look https://www.youtube.com/wat...

I imagine the camera would need to be tweaked when rolling/what not and other parts of Geralt would have to be removed to make it look better, maybe floating hands like in DSIII.

I agreed with you too a point. Yes, the majority of people who make up sales for consoles are casuals, these are people who buy an only a few games a year. But trying to appeal to them more is most certainly a bad thing. That's what's been happening to games for a while now, look at Fallout 4 for example. It was dumbed down and stripped of so many of the RPG elements. Is it still a good game? Sure, I enjoyed and others did. But they trimmed down on gameplay elements to appeal t...

That would be up to Sony and MS most likely.

It's not like console gaming is cutting edge. PC gaming is the only place to get the most "cutting edge" in terms of graphics. But that doesn't mean you need to be "cutting edge", far from it actually. You can play most new games at the same settings as consoles with modest specs. So yes your right. But that doesn't mean you have to use cutting edge hardware.

Could it last for five years if it can run games at 4k? Yes, I would think so. But I doubt it will be able to run all games released throughout the entire five years at 4k. Then again I don't think even two GTX 1080s have that guarantee.

"You will be surprised on hearing," Literally no one is surprised, it is a given nowadays that after a game has gone gold the devs will start the patches right away. I'm normally not annoyed by any articles even existing but having seen this already multiple time already, how is this news? As I said its common practice for devs to continue working on games once they've gone gold. Though I wonder how they find bugs in a game like this, considering nothing was hand placed, ...

They've added some things supposedly and it is also a 64-bit program now too which will help it crash a lot less.

@SoulMikeY

Yeah, no. You don't know what you're talking about, you can easily build a gaming PC for 600 that'll outperform current consoles.

The one's saying that are the ones who can only tell you it is a game about exploring random worlds, others who know more than that are either incredibly hyped or cautiously optimistic/realistic. Though the former and hyped ones are the loudest.
