They all are flagship gaming consoles being sold on the market ,so yes, they are competitors. Unless you want to compare the Switch to mobile phone or tablet, which still make no sense.
There was Tales of Vesperia which sold at an acceptable copies on the X360 and is end up being remastered for the current gen consoles.
Which is a good thing, considering we are all are gamers and we all always praise the importance of exclusives.

We have games like Forza Horizon (unless the PS4 has an exclusive open world racing game that I’m not awared of), Halo, Gears, Sea of Thieves, and State of Decay.
And no, just because those games don’t “interest” you that doesn’t mean they aren’t great and not interesting to other people. You does not equal the world.
I have no objection to that. Each console had their own strengths and weaknesses and that is why we need competitions in the market to help balance that.
This is why I really hate some fanboys for wanting only one console to survive while wishing death on other consoles every single day. Such immature and insecured minds.

Consider the amount of fanbase the X1 has as well as the inclusion of Gamepass, I’d say FH4 has made a great milestone.
It doesn’t have to outsell Spiderman in order to be a success. If you use that logic, then every games this year will be a failure compared to RDR2.

Can you explain why the Switch is outselling both the PS4/X1 in Japan every month and frequently outsell them as well in the US?
Its all about having good relationships with the Japanese devs since MS is not based in Japan like Sony and Nintendo. And who know? Maybe they are scouting some Japanese devs as well.
