I Don't know about Streetfighter. To me games with characters and a storyline is hardcore with the exception of movie based games. It's not so much about combos and complex controller schemes, it's the presentation the game makes to the potential buyer.
I think the best way to put it is that casual gamers are people who aren't normally interested in video games. Casual games are ones that entice non-gamers to become one. I would say madden and gran turismo are casual games because despite their in-depth control schemes and tunings, they bring people into gaming scene. I've seen countless people who have never had any intentions to buy video games get a system JUST for madden or gran turismo.
I've never heard of this site.
Ahh yes. The increasing number of consoles sold insures me there will be a great future for me as a police officer. Mwahh ha haa.
Look they made an anal list of some analysts. They did not offer any original response and wasted my time saying what every one has been saying.
Wooooow. Or should I say Wiiiii. What a monster.
My bet is that it will increase incrementally as each gen passes by.
I think it was sony's intention to have third party's make the best out of home in order for their them to get the word out on upcoming games, news, etc. More of this is definitely needed. Now what sony has to do is have a more intergrated experience with actual games and friends.
It's no so big in japan...yet. Think as the 360 as a seed this gen in Japan where the end result will be a larger fan/install base for microsoft. If MS does things right they will reap the benefits next gen because their name will have been established as a viable contender in their gaming circuit. Look, most of us didn't take the xbox serious last gen but look at where it's at now. If sony doesn't get it's act together now then the u.s. market won't be the only place it will have to worry ab...
He has valid points on how their approach on certain things are done better than sony's. For example, showing games/apps that still have a long time before they get to stores or in our hands and how home is not integrated directly with the gaming experience. Both systems are great each with strenghs and weakness' that compliment each other. Ultimately it doesn't matter because their both getting their asses handed to them by the Wii.
No ps3 exclusive? for shame...
Uh-Oh, them sounds likes fightin' words.
WOW!Magnificent.
No, it's bad. Really really bad.
Xbox isn't wanted by Blu-ray consumers.
How accurate is that?
Holy hot nuggets on a chicken biscuit that's a whole whopping load discs sold. Makes the big toe wiggle in my boot.
Yea people want blu ray. The numbers don't lie. But you do,robbie bach...you do.
Send Pictures!
Blu-Ray for the ps3 is a double edge sword. The high price is whats holding it back but then again it helped eliminate hd-dvd when it was the only blu-ray player at it's price. But now the blu ray players price have come down people are buying those instead and the people that are looking for a game console are either waiting for a ps3 price drop or are just going straight for the 360.
I completely agree bones. I think the question isn't is if this game is hardcore or not but instead is if this gamer is. Look at what has happened to guitar hero, rockband. I'd have to rethink about games like madden and gran turismo because I still feel they have massive appeal to people who normally don't play v-games.
