it was probably done on purpose to fight privacy and gamesharing.
Majority of people gaming since the old days, waiting till the next cosole wave came in, were dying to see the improvement in graphics the next wave of consoles pushed out. Deny it, omit it, reject it all you want graphics play a big role. I also doubt that has changed much.
Dont bring up "then why does cod sell a lot" as that game sells to little kids, that will tell you its graphics are amazing and can't wait to see how it would look like next gen if asked.
Capabilities that can be/were done this gen though. Come next Xbox and playstation and things can go downhill for Nintendo real fast. If casuals continue not to buy third party games and if the core don't find buying games they already own necessary Nintendo can also loose third party support for the wiiU.

Who cares? its a freemium game, of course free-to-play games will have massive downloads. But most these freemium games fail to bring in-app purchase revenue.

Ps3 accounts strict? You can gameshare with 2 or 3 people and make as many accounts as you want. The average ps3 owner has 2 accounts. The stuff you buy online in one account, can be used by anyone who has an account on that system. Please dont spread what "others" mightve said (that is false) and misinform people.

It could be true, as Nintendo is all about fighting piracy and such. This could be their move to fight gamesharing and piracy. Gamesharing is a killer to devs/sales, its the reason why Sony dropped it from 5 to 2 (I believe). Another reason not to support Nintendo's wiiU, me and my brother gameshare and soon probably gameshare with our cousin as well (as he has a ps3 now).

Yeah never used it myself as well. I dont like signing up for things I won't be using much. The only thing good was that it offered free games time to time. But it also seems these free app a day services are slowly dying as well. Games are now usually free for some time if the developers themselves issue it. I guess it could be the mobile scene is just dying down.

Nope, seems the wii-u was overhyped by Nintendo and its games are lackluster. Doesn't seem necessary to upgrade, when I can get the same and more from my current consoles. I doubt wiiverse is going to be better than home. Fact is, home is a huge success with people there participating in events, mini-games, spaces and most importantly socializing. Also every time I go there, I always see people with bought clothing.

The jump from ps2 to ps3 was a big leap. It was new technology some devs are still having trouble with and it was from SD to HD. So you can't use your argument as RFOM definitely looks better than last gen games. Wii U should be nothing devs have already seen. So either bad port (which I can admit its probably that) or inferior hardware.
