Hmm... suspicious. Although who would give over their details, particularly details as personal as that, I've no idea...
I think this is an interesting concept. Call of Duty as a more pared-down, down-to-earth game could work fantastically well at somewhat shaking up the formula, but I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't ever consider adding any sort of more tactical or non-bravado-fuelled game mechanic as I expect that it would alienate much of their current (astoundingly large) audience.
That accessibility is, I think, what accounts for alot of Call of Duty's success. And I think tha...
I'm not sure about the concept of a new Nintendo Wii. The original found its success from the (then original) concept of motion control; if that interface is precisely the same with the Super Nintendo Wii, then I don't know whether only HD and multiplayer will be enough to sell it.
I'd prefer the money invested into better-developed, more engrossing, non-shovelware titles, I think. Though perhaps my pessimism on a new Wii will be disproved eventually.
In one way, I'm glad that it turned out to be a Seventh Generation release (that being console generation), as it means the quality is excellent and the scope for what they could do is really open.
In another though, a part of me wonders; if Red Dead Redemption were a PS2/Xbox release, would we have another Red Dead release instead, perhaps even better thanks to the additional game in between to hone their skills and perfect the formula even more?
Merely ...
Wasn't that just a hoax by Jeuxvideo.com?
A nice little list; I'd generally agree.
Though, there seems to be a distinct lack of British (or Australian, NZ or Canadian) games journos. Perhaps in countries other than America - where videogames journalism generally stays to print mags and the web, instead of the television outlets Americans benefit from - it can be harder for a games journalist to make a name for themself.
For example, I can only think of two or three big-name Brit videogames journa...
Some pretty impressive screenshots there. I particularly like the third and fourth ones - there's a real sense of abandonment and destruction in those.
Perhaps there'll be more on this at E3? I hope so.
I think the point with this article is to read it and appreciate it, but take it with a pinch of salt - reading it, I don't see it as a deadly serious social reflection, but more as a cynically ironic look at the Pokémon series from a different angle altogether.
Personally, I really enjoyed the write-up. :D
Never been a great fan of GTA in general, but there's no doubting its achievement, particularly in open-world design.
A good and varied list, in my opinion. Haven't managed to get my hands on my own copy of LBP2 yet, but the levels I played in the beta and on friends' copies have proven what a good game LBP2 is.
Usually I wouldn't pick someone up on a grammar mistake, but here CYBERSNAKE directly insulted the post and therefore the writer, with their insult based upon a false grammatical statement.
Therefore, I felt it necessary to make CYBERSNAKE aware that he was mistaken in his comment, and that he should not make comments that insult or degrade others when he doesn't know what he's talking about in the first place.
Does that make us 'freaks'? ...
Say the title out loud and you'll find the natural pronoun of the proper noun 'MGS' is 'an'. This is because the sound of 'M' is (ehm), a vowellic sound, beginning with (eh). Before an 'e' sound, such as 'eh', you naturally say an so as not to conflict the vowel 'a' with the 'e' sound and to make spoken language more fluent.
You'd be correct to use 'a' with a hard 'M' sound, such as in 'magazi...
Very exciting news - can't wait to get back to snapping necks very soon :)
Some very true clichés highlighted here; nice little list.
I think that the general state of games journalism from the larger sites, and those seeking easy hits, is definitely getting gradually lower, and standards are slipping. However, I do believe that there are many smaller independent sites which have big-corporation standards in terms of accuracy, informativeness and proper critical analysis, and I personally think that these sites are those which will make up the ...
Wow. If this is true... crikey. Very exciting news and hopefully a rumour which will actually come to fruition.
Lovely interview - answered a large number of questions I wanted to know the answers to. Shame about the lack of post-completion freeplay and no drivable vehicles. I was lucky enough to get a chance to play New Vegas at Eurogamer Expo last weekend, and it's truly excellent.
Thanks for the interview :)
A lovely little roundup of Move so far - bravo TSA. Personally, I'm reserving judgement on Move (and, indeed, motion control) until I play some games with it.
Some interesting arguments in this article, and in the Kinect-beats-Move counterpart. Personally I'm reserving judgement on both until I get to play them at Eurogamer Expo. :)
Hmm, interesting and intriguing. It'd certainly be good to find out what they're working on.
Loved Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Really loved Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. I reckon I'll probably get married to Uncharted 3 if the trend continues. :P
The multiplayer aspect of Uncharted 3 just looks fantastic, a huge improvement on the last in many respects (which is no mean feat, seeing as the multiplayer of U2 was so enjoyable). I'm hoping perhaps the ridiculously long updating and logon processes are omitted from the multiplayer section of the game this time ...
