I dont think eidos has any choice in the matter. These decisions are typically up to the publisher. And if there is any truth to some of the claims made by jim square enix is very demanding of there devs. I wonder if there is any truth to just cause 3 being a multiplayer only pc title because they thought consoles were dead and had Avalanche change it last minute.

Ummm cod would be nothing without Mp. This is saying games that were good and multiplayer was a waste of dev time. Not liking cod multiplayer now verses older cod titles is not what this is about.
The other guy @Haydenjamessmith is right. It seem thet announce 1 year, do dormant then gameplay the next year, with release following that. I dont know this game or how technical it is but a 3 year dev cycle seems pretty standard. So lets hope its been started already.
Maybe cost. If xbox was successful in japan then maybe. But its not and is not showing any signs it ever will be. The Japanese market is in handheld, mobile and pc. Consoles are dying there if what i read is correct.

But a person could say a consoles success is determined at the end of a gen not only by sales but also its variety and quality of exclusives. Its a healthy race in the US as an x1 gamer im not delusional to think it will win the US, but nor do I care who wins. What i do care about is both consoles supporting their fan base by listening to the community and our needs and also supporting new ips, not just what has worked in the past.
Oh its mostly just users on here. Its speculation from people who think because one console it outselling the other one that the least selling console is doomed. That and there is a number of people who think gaming would be better off withou MS in it. I love my X1 so I support whatever exclusives and new IPs thhey throw out
With the Roboraid ip surfacing and now this. It seems like MS is trying to invest in new ips while bringing back some old favorites. Alot of people seem to think this is MS last console but if that were true i wouldnt think they would be going through the kind of effort being put forth.

Not gonna happen. People are delusional if they think so. Like I posted earlier. The best we can hope for is 1440p @ 60fps or 1080p @ 60 fps on really demanding games
Remakes can be very good if given the proper treatment and rebuilt from the ground up. There are alot of amazing games from the gamecube ps1 ps2 and xbox days that would be great. Im not saying remedy or naughty dog should be doing these but there are alot of small development studios that could be handed these ips and would give them jobs. And fore us gamerscore or trophy fanatics well it pads our stats. :)
