Why are people surprised, they have to maintain parity, they can't favour base versions of one console too much over the other, cause fanboys will tear them a new one. They don't want that weird hate.
Probably a good idea honestly, you will save money if you get it later and it might get features that are currently missing.
I don't get why people are expecting a multiplatform game to look or perform too different on each other. Devs and publishers have been doing this for years, where they will try their best to maintain parity between both.
Unless it's an exclusive on both ends, we aren't really gonna see the consoles used to their fullest, or unless you are on PC of course, that's the only thing they usually get away with. Imagine giving a parity and then having fanboys like...
Absolutely, both this and Death Stranding were such a refreshing change of pace in the AAA landscape!
Gamepass is a godsend, honestly makes waiting for games so much easier, by the time I am done with the backlog, the game's that aren't on it are usually cheap.
Just last month I have played like Octopath, Battlefield V (mainly wanted to try out the war stories), Doom Eternal and got to try out Squadrons.
It is great for introducing you to games you won't usually play either like Octopath, I have always had an aversion to turn based games, but...

Whilst I won't be able to get it anytime soon, very glad it does that well. It is always exciting to see an amazing indie dev push into the AAA landscape of gaming and do well! Can't wait to see what they do next!

Got a Quest 2 recently, and its brilliant how good both the wireless and one wire experience is, super easy to setup. As long as that's the norm for PSVR 2, I might get that.
It feels like no matter what was positioned to you, you'd make aggressive arguments against them anyways.
And Gamepass on Xbox is still the much better experience, with a wider range of games to play, you won't even find certain games on PC gamepass at all.
Now with Outriders launching (Yeah, I know you will now moan about how lame that game is or something), day one on Xbox Series X but not on PC

This really makes me glad Sony does a greatest hits label, everyone should do that! I really disagree with Nintendo's reasoning of their prices being that their games keep their value.
I mean if I can get TLOU for like £8-10 currently, I don't see how most of their games are worth £30+ still. They should really mark them down after the initial period so more people can get it.

I won't necessarily say that Sony or Microsoft won't lose anything. They make money off selling their games, and RRP for consoles are usually underpriced.
The 1000s of consoles sitting with scalpers aren't really going to help shift any licenses or copies of games.
AMD and Nvidia I can agree, that they won't much lose out on anything because they don't have to sell games to make money.
Wow gotta admit Echo Night Beyond seems a little ahead for its time, I bet if it came out today in the ranks of games like Observation, Gone Home, and other exploratory games, it would do really well.
I think that is their plan at the end, where you can play on mobile devices. So hopefully you'll get your wish soon :)
