I stunned myself when I put the pad down. I'd heard all the rave reviews all the fans reactions to how great the game was, I so wanted to like the game but it wasn't what I was expecting and that led to disappointment. Maybe I should try the game again as I have more of an understanding of what to expect.

I'm hoping Rising is indeed Multiplat. Been a fan of MGS since the original released on PS1. I do have MG1 and MG2 from the Subsistance boxset but never really played them. I have Integral on PS1, Twin Snakes on Cube, MGS2 on PS2, MGS2:Substance on PS2, MGS3 on PS2, MGS3 Japanese Special edition (Complete with mini Shagohod! =) ) MGS3:Subsistance, MG:Ac!d on PSP, MG:Acid2 on PSP, MGPO on PSP, MGPO+ on PSP and of course MGS4 on PS3... I played GeoW2 at christmas time. That and GeoW1 were a couple of reasons I was going to get a 360 (NG2, Fable2 and Mass Effect being the others) I was honestly stunned when I finally got to play Gears 2 tho. I really couldn't get on with the slow and (IMO) clunky action. Now I know I'm in the minority on that and I'm probably going to get slaughtered by 360 fans but after what I was expecting Gears is not for ME.

This can be nothing but good news considering the last Castlevania that was released on PS2 and the original Xbox. That game was so far removed from Castlevania it was a completely different game and IMO it suffered heavily for it. SoTN was the last great Castlevania on a "big" console.

Meh, game is not worth a 10 but it's WAY better than a 3.8. I'm having loads of fun with it.
It can be punishing at times where you screw a swing up but when you get used to the controls, swinging constantly and fluidly feels pretty rewarding. All the arm combat moves leave a satisfying impact when you connect too.
Worst thing is the load screens between falling to your death and starting from the beginning of the level again... Whatever, that's how the games I used ...
Nikuma, how is that fixed??? FFX was the worst Final Fantasy game I've ever played! (Yeah, I didn't even bother with X-2) Although the story was poor, FF XII was much better in terms of gameplay and world.
I absolutely addored Fallout 3, I put over 100 hours into the game and eventually recieved the Platinum trophy. I must have been very lucky as the game crashed on me maybe 3 times in those 100 hours, very little data lost and nothing that was game breaking or really spoilt the experience.
For me it would have been game of the year if MGS4 hadn't come out but it's definitely my 2nd favourite game of last year. I was extremely disapointed that the PS3 wouldn't be getting the DLC ...
It's a first person RPG much in the same vein as the elder scroll games (Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall, Arena) it's a great game if you're into that sort of thing.
V.A.T.S. is pretty much essential in a lot of places, you can play the game as a first person shooter but you'll find it takes a ton more ammo to bring down an enemy. Besides, there's something really satisfying about watching someone who is trying to kill you have their head exploded in gory slow motion.
PS3 only owner here. I had an absolute blast with Fallout 3. I was disappointed to hear that the DLC was exclusive.

I'm still not feeling this newest rendition of KoF... The roster still seems lacking IMHO. Too many "classic" KoF characters I want to see.
Until I see an expanded roster, I'm on the fence for this one... Just saying that makes me disappointed as I've been a fan since the original (you can choose whether that's the original Fatal Fury or KoF94)
For me? Basically how gaming was a year ago. I used to be against achievements "I do most of the stuff in the achievement list when I play through a game anyway" Since then Sony have implemented trophies and now I'm hooked and I can fully appreciate the appeal Xbox owners have been enjoying for years.
Trophies (I don't own a 360) have made me play through games multiple times on hardest difficulties to get those platinum trophies. They do add to the longevity of a game ...
I personally thought the article was utter crap... The writer needs to move out of the 80's for a start. As has been mentioned above. There are now many strong females in gaming. Nariko from heavenly sword, Faith from Mirrors edge, a whole slew of characters from fighting games Chun-li, Mai Shiranui etc etc, most recently Sheva from RE5. All, incredibly strong women be it in mind or body.

All characters unlocked from the start? It'll save a lot of time (and I mean A LOT) but I'm undecided whether this is a good thing or not. Hopefully there will be at least something to unlock.
I'm in the same boat as you guys, always preferred CvsS2, infact that is possibly my favourite fighter of all time. The marvel games are a different style of game though, the combat is vastly different and I really did enjoy MvsC2. I used to have Psylocke, Strider and Guile as my team.

no, DLC is region locked (usually) well I haven't found one set of DLC from one region that works in another. Ninja Gaiden Sigma, UTIII, LBP, resistance are all examples so I imagine it will be the same case for VC too.
Loved the game all the way through to getting the Platinum and NO I won't be buying this. The content itself doesn't appeal and I wasn't impressed that Capcom announced this before the game was actually released.

I bought it and it's a great FPS, I'm not a big FPS fan though and actually prefer Resident Evil 5. Last generation, most shooter fans were playing Xbox, PS was pretty much all genres BUT FPS. I'd say the same still applies for the majority. I don't play KZ online, I did, for about 3 or 4 matches day of release and got completely obliterated, I'll stick with streetfighter for my online entertainment.
