The thing with the patches... That has literally never happened to any game I've ever played.
Most patches I see in games are just minor patches in which the differences aren't really noticeable. Bug fixes, if you will.
No, there's a damn good (factual) reason why the blogger is wrong. Games do not sell that well if they are "mediocre". They are not touted as possibly the "best new franchise" of this generation by many if they are "mediocre". "mediocre" games do not get 88s and 96s on metacritic.

There was nothing that good on that when it came out but as soon as they start hitting out with pokemon and mario games left, right and centre I'll be glad I got one.

I was thinking like a smoothed out version of FFIX's graphics and gameplay style. Similar to what they did with the DS FFIV remake. That remake could not have been more perfect.
Getting killed in one hit by the first boss in demon's souls. This served as an introduction to what the remainder of the game would be like but it also sparked me to have the courage to eventually get the platinum- 180+ hours and around 600 deaths later.
No game has ever been so addicting for me this generation.
Yup FFVII is a no-brainer. Definitely the most requested. FFVI would probably benefit from it more, though. Some voice acting and 3D graphics would make that game even more awesome.
All this is gonna do is encourage more pc players to get it for console instead. No one wants your shitty store, EA
