here's the thing, although in the same time-frame ps3 is doing better then xbox360, right now there are aprox. 6 millions more 360's. this means more money. that's reason number 1.

i was an avid pc gamer since the days of dos and until this generation of consoles.
in the past i used to upgrade my pc like only after 3 years or so and still ran a LOT of stuff between that time.
then next-gen gaming came along and everything started getting crazy.

i agree with 1.5, the playstation brand is what really brought gaming to the masses and a lot of casual gaming but the wii is taking it a step further by allowing more "interactive" gameplay for the whole family at a cheap price
