mgs1 psx launch - September 3, 1998
mgs1 pc launch - September 24, 2000
mgs twin snakes launch - March 9, 2004
few years apart wouldn't you say? there's also the space constraint, the fact that most likely the game is running a highly-optimized ps3 engine, and the millions that were invested in advertising by apple and sony. no other metal gear has this many ads, so i'm still betting that the odds of this coming to the 360 are very slim.
imo sony should buy insomniac

lol @ 1.2
more than half of those reviews aren't even gonna enter gamerankings unfortunately
also the article discusses exclusivity in a general way, it doesn't talk about the quality of the exclusives (lol @ haze & lair), everyone knows mgs4 is a masterpiece
u are aware that most of those games are multiplatform right?
and people are still talking about mgs4 on 360? man that's some persistent rumor
how is that related to the article?
star ocean 4 exclusivity is up in the air, alpha protocol is multiformat, marvel ultimate alliance 2 is multiformat, arcania is multiformat, Big Huge Games rpg is multiformat, free realms multiplat, probably more on that list, but these jumped up as clear flaws to me
to the initial poster, i would have been cool with that, god forbid that i would spend 5min every week updating the ps3 firmware, as long as they brought new features and stuff (say like 2.39 had in-game xmb...and 2.40 had trophies something like that), but everyone started whining about that, so sony had to cut back on those too-frequent updates
well, it did come out in 9/9/99 but that was in the usa, the dreamcast launched in japan november 27 of 1998
well code veronica had to go somewhere, ps1 was showing its age, and the dreamcast came out 2 years before the ps2, capcom wanted to keep flushing out resident evil's and the ps2 just wasn't there yet.
as for re4...well the re remake did meet critical acclaim, nintendo then just "convinced" capcom the gamecube was the better home for a while.
now this generation...capcom is really whoring herself to the highest bidder
nintendo owns the handheld business and is now starting to take over sony on the console department (11 years for ps1 and 8 years for the ps2 and counting create enormous brand loyalty) but the wii is breaking all kinds of records in terms of sales (sorry guys microsoft is still in 3rd place, face it)
imo i think nintendo should invest in the wii (not creating those crappy peripherals like the wii wheel and stuff like that, but the wii board is a pretty cool idea) and keep pushing for e...
erm, crystal chronicles is for the ds
vib ribbon on the go = win
Microsoft has said it in the past, they will stay in the console business as long as it takes to make a constant profit (i wouldn't call a few months since the birth of the original xbox "profit"). if they see fit that they no longer have a possibility of winning the battle they will move on. it's happened in the past, it will happen again.
last remnant was announced multi-platform may 10 2007. let's assume work started by then (which it didn't , it started way before) and it's using the unreal engine 3. now everyone knows about the unreal engine problems last year, and epic sorted them out by the end of 2007 (ut3 launch). what the article says is that since the unreal engine was only workable after ut3, there has been almost a year in which the development of the ps3 version was slower than xbox360.
well yeah you could say metal gear online is the multiplayer part of mgs4 so they should have been reviewed together, it's not any different with other games.
as a standalone review ofc mgo will have scores like 7, 8 (it's still lots of fun but some aspects could have been better) but taken into account the game mgs4 (singleplayer) and mgo (which is the multiplayer of mgs4) it is a rock solid 10.
lol indeed it went something like this "man we can't give them one of the best fps games ever, nintendo got their hands all over it, hey i know let's give me a s*itty fps with goldeneye in the name!"
"good call, sir."
doesn't seem that hot to me, sonic doesn't even look like he's running in some parts, more like floating. hope they finally launch a good sonic game
mgs2 used the whole dvd, which means it's 4.5gb, twin snakes used 2 discs (1.5*2=3gb, if it's using the whole disc) and i wouldn't say it looked better, it looked on par with mgs2 (mgs3 eclipsed it though) (that otacon pic u showed really made me laugh, when i played twin snakes i didn't realize otacon was so ugly lol)
