...because it builds a stronger relationship with the devs from Codemaster. Many of Sony's second party devs have expressed their fondness of working with Sony and how good their support is. This might not seem like much now, but with time it might prevent futute exclusivity with the 360 and maybe, just maybe more dedication to the PS3 (leading a game on the PS3 vs. 360).
