I'm Japanese so sorry for my bad English

The answer is obvious for the Japanese market.
So it's enjoyable for me (I'm Japanese) to watch PS4 vs Xbox One thing in the Western websites because it's like watching wild animals fighting on National Geographic Channel.

Sony could not give PS3 cross-game chat feature because of lack of memory.
Then they learned, "Reserve memory area for the future if you make a new console!"

Even if Nintendo or Microsoft give their new consoles some new and popular feature which Sony doesn't, the reserved memory will enable PS4 to follow them.

Moreover Nintendo doesn't allow the Japanese to get Nintendo Web Framework which is free for the non-Japanese.

And Nintendo did not show the Japanese upcoming third-party titles in Nintendo Direct @ E3.
(I suppose most of Western people at game forums aren't aware of that.)
It was different from English one.
I doubt they don't care the Japanese enough because they dominate the Japanese market by 3DS.

Sorry, I mistook Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem for 1st party title.

As for Deus Ex, nobody will buy it in Japan. (Even on PS3, only 15k sold.)
As for indies games, the Japanese doesn't have much interest in them.

Here is Wii U software sales list in Japan.

> How about Atlus?

Index Corporation (owns Atlus brand) is bankrupt.
And they had nothing to be announced for Wii U.

> The only reason Japanese publishers have no interest is because Nintendo are pushing them away.

Even if so, it wouldn't save Wii U.
Because total software sales for the platform would remain too low.

According to the article (published on 21 July), retailers in Japan estimates the selling capacity of the game market for LEGO City: Undercover and The Wonderful 101 are 30k copies.
Unfortunately it's short springtime for the people saying "Look at Wii U sales in Japan! Pikmin 3 sells well! Wii U's future is bright!"

I suppose that the publisher would like to evade competition with Pokemon X & Y which will be released on 12 Oct.

Wii U is a second Game Cube boycotted by third parties.

Indeed Nintendo games on the console will be nice, but they will not save it.

Judging from the sales of Class of Heroes series in Japan, it will be 20k-30k in first week.

I want to add Valkyrie Profile to the list instead of recent games.

And I love these Japan-exclusive and unknown (even for the Japanese) masterpieces of JRPGs in 1990's:

- Tenshi No Uta II: Datenshi No Sentaku
- Illusion City
- Linda Cube (aka Linda Cube again)
- Ore No Shikabane o Koeteyuke

Unfortunately, it's unlikely.

4608d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Index Corporation merged with Atlus several years ago.
In other words, Atlus is one division of Index Corporation.
Atlus division itself is healthy, but the rest caused the bankruptcy.
Therefore, if Nintendo or someone want Atlus's IPs, so far, they must buy the whole Index Corp with huge debt.
I doubt whether Nintendo will be so lavish that they will shoulder Index's debt.

Hmm, it's very unclear what it will be.

1. Nowadays many Japanese people don't have enough time to play console games. Why? Because they are occupied with their jobs. Why? Because companies decreased their employees to down the cost. Handheld/mobile games are suitable for playing in recess or transit time. They are easy to begin and easy to quit.

2. Many Japanese developers have evaded going to HD games for years because they didn't have enough budget and skill to develop HD games. I must point out that PC ...

I'm a native speaker of Japanese, so trust me. XD
At least the author chose the words "continue", "without", and "stopping" by mistake.

There's a mistranslation.

"However, I wonder it can't be helped that the momentum was not so much as expected"

It's a fusion of Haiku/Senryu (Japanese styles of short poetry), puzzle, and rhythm game.
Innovative and ambitious.
But it won't be localized to the West (like Mojipittan).
