I guess most of you didn't hear about the big plan USA has put forth. The one that's going to cost billions. There going to lay fiber optic lines all over the country, to bring ultra fast connection to everyones doorsteps.
Up here in Canada tho. Most people have real high speed. Generally 3mb. And up to 25mb if your a cable user.

I believe the reason HD-DVD was dumped by companies so fast, Is actually everyone on news sites fault.
Every time there was some sort of story posted about How HD-DVD will loose, or this company dropped it, blah blah.
Those stories would be spread on every damn news site. With that, it creates alot of media publicity, which in turn of course effects the real world. With all the media publicity with stories saying HD-DVD will die. More people started talking in the real wor...

You can patent anything you want, As long as it's not already patented. No matter how silly it is.
Even if you want to patent a game where the object is to take a piece of cheese and throw it off the CN Tower and have it land on a light post. Doesn't matter, as long as you tried to patent it first :).
(Yes there are a few types of things you can't patent, but that's a whole different thing.)
If the controllers are rechargeable, then that means you have to stop playing when the battery is empty.
But if a controller uses batteries. Then when one set of batteries looses power, you can merely pop them out, stick them in a charger. Then take your already charged set of batteries and pop them in the remote. And your back to playing again :).
I will always want remotes that use batteries. Until the day when batteries can be charged instantly.
A lot of people use illegal download as a way to test products before we buy them.
Like video games for example. You download a pirated copy. If you like it then you buy it. If you don't you throw it away.
Obviously not everyone does this. But a lot of people do.
It's also free advertising for companies if the product is actually good, then it's spread throughout the web having millions see it. Helps build a bigger fanbase for a product. And with that they do ear...
Yeah I know. But unlike google. Pirate Bay is only for torrents. Google is just a search of the web. Even if google brought up illegal material websites. They would have the websites blocked so you couldn't go to them.
But anyways. Yeah it's all confusing as to how everything would work. Theres so many variables and issues to deal with. I wish all this crap would just stop.

I have never been using my Windows XP, and thought... Hey it would be nice if XP had this.. Or XP had that.. blah blah. ( And even if I did want something. There is most likely a mod out there that will add that feature to XP :P )
XP has all I need and will ever need. There is no need for me to change to linux or to Vista. What do they offer that I actually need or want?

For games and movies. Torrents are the main source for illegal copies of those things. Due to them being such huge file sizes.
And yes there are legal things on TPB. But the majority of the torrents they have are for illegal files. And while what they are doing is legal. An ISP may choose to block them since it is a source for finding illegal material.

I think they would check there DNS servers and see what pirated material websites you visit. And thus ban you.
(Of course you could use OpenDNS to avoid that :). But they could still see what IP's your connecting to and ban you for visiting those sites.)

I disagree. One day we will have fully destructible environments.
Were already well on our way with the technology. We just don't have powerful enough PC's yet to process all the data that is needed for it.
But the foundation is already there. There is a game engine that can be integrated into games that simulates mass/structure/etc.. of objects. Making metal objects bend and/or break like metal, Wood burn/splinter/break like wood, Glass break like glass, etc....

It's not. I've been using the same hard drive for about 9 years now. And it's been running almost 24/7. And it still works fine.
Also, Solid state memory technology is ever so advancing. With already the 1TB record being broken not long ago for solid state memory.
In the future solid state memory will be more feasible. And so will downloading movies. I'm talking about the far future. Not 10 years ...
