Hackers have worked hard to create a way to burn and play PS3 games. And have been successful. There's already a way to dump, burn and then play PS3 games.
And with games, The game data is never filling up the whole disc. Dummy files are put on the disc to fill the rest of the disc. But if you crack the disc you can extract those dummy files and greatly reduce the size of the ISO. So the download would take a lot less...

Sony has created technology to build hard drives with 5 times the space, using the same platters we use today.
So in another year or 2 we will probably see 1TB hard drives for 20-50$
45$ for 160GB hard drive... It's pretty cheap to have enough space already these days.

For the PC, Buying the disc for a game is merely for collectors.. People who like to have a colorful disc to show what they own.
In the future.. Probably like 20-30 years tho.. Even console games will be mainly Internet based just like the PC. And mostly the people buying disc's are people who want to have something physical they own :).
I really hope they release a version that uses the Old GUI.

The only way they could Discontinue Vista. Is if they gave free Windows 7 to all people who have a legit copy of Vista.
GAMERS are complaining because of the resources it use.
Gamers like to get the most FPS out of a game they can. So with Vista using almost triple the resources XP uses.. That's a good amount of lost FPS there in some cases.
Vista is also still buggy, and will be some time before it reaches the level that XP is at. Vista also doesn't have anything the average person needs, That XP doesn't have. Ooohh, Shinny new interface.. (You can get a Vista skin for XP if you want.)
Most of the hackers will start making more viruses targeted towards Vista then XP. While we XP user's sit back with less and less virus's >:D. PWUAHAHA.
