total bs
the one and only constant we have in this ever changing industry is hate; hate from the supposed fanbase
sure it changes from one game/franchise to the next, from one developer/publisher to the next, and certainly from one console to another, but its always there rearing its ugly head
last gen it was sony on the firing line, right now its nintendos turn, and even as we speak its shifting to microsoft
and it will change again as sure a...
apples and oranges...
just because they both feature zombies doesnt make them them the same
i consider both DR and Dead Island to be among my favorite franchises this, or any, gen
agree
i never understood that mentality
i fkn LOVE gaming
the thought of a new console gets me excited. always has
wait?
why the hell would i want to?
ive also been playing games from before atari and i can honestly say, in all these long years there have been very few games i have not enjoyed and truly disliked.
maybe im simply a glass is half full kinda guy, but most games have something to love about them.
btw, i really didnt mind ET as much as the critics, but god did i curse EVERY TIME i fell down that damn hole!
@TheGreatAndPowerful
Im not the least bit surprised at that news.
But, what always surprises me is just how ignorant and naive people are about how the corporate world works.
Everyone should read The Media Monopoly by Ben Bagdikian.
Familiarize yourselves with the world in which you live.
And never again will you look at society in the same way.
Should have made the list a "Top Ten" so they could include Shadow of the Colossus and Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons
@ DrRobotnik Agree.
In a way, this timed exclusivity (as it should be seen,) was the best thing that could have happened for fans of DR.
Cross-platform development, historically, has had to hamstring one version or the other with conscessions for the sake of parity.
When the ps4 version releases (under a different name with added features) the code will have been optimized (most likely with better FPS etc...) with the delay given as a valid reason. T...
But what other division can generate a large amount of revenue in such a short period of time as Games with the impending release of our new console. A new generation is akin to an emerging market. So much vast, untapped potential.
Which is key to the turnaround/offload scenario.
*edit
Im curious, and if you dont mind me asking, what companies from the industry do have in your portfolio? Im currently holding this and TTWO/long (PRE GTA3 i might add =)
...
Agree.
Destiny will no doubt lure some gamers away from playing (but not necessarily buying) COD because its fresh, looks damned exciting and does things differently. Bungie is setting a precedent, giving us a new way to play online shooters by combining it with social aspects (dare i say, another definition of true next-gen?)
But those seeking their DM/TDM (competitive) fix wont find it in Destiny. Titanfall, maybe.
However, i still think COD has many (good?)...
Its ironic how you can chastise someone for using hyperbole by insinuating he wears a "tinfoil hat," which itself, is a perfect example and the very definition of hyperbole.
Might i suggest you accompany him to the shop to purchase yourself a dictionary.
OT-Title should read: "Xbox One's kinect: impressive control, instant access and X-Ray specs"
I actually wouldnt mind having a bit of fun with that last one =)
...
I never thought id see the motley fool being cited on n4g.
They actually have a decent track record and their strategies have found at least some measure of success but, by no means should their word be taken as gospel.
The biggest problem i see with this list?
Theres WAY too many great games for just a top 10
Scared? I wouldnt say that, but i AM strangely aroused.
He never understood when the other kids would tease him and call him buttface...
He fooled me. I thought for sure that at the end of the video he was gonna eat the contents of the box.
"I spent an afternoon with the Xbox One, and it was amazing"
Well, i spent the night with one and now i have crabs.
@darkride
I hold stock in a multitude of companies and most are long. Sony on the other hand isnt one of them. I purchased Sony as a turnaround. And i think the games division is going to be integral to that happening.
Last time i checked i was sitting on roughly a 50% return on investment and with Sony poised, as it seems, to become the market leader once again, our position going forward will only improve (barring any unforseen incidents.)

This is old news.
We already knew this. At any given time kinect can accurately track your head, your friends heads, your controller, your friends controllers, dermal implants, your wifes nipples and your penis all at the same time.
And ALL this in the name of gaming!
Glad someone finally mentioned Viva Pinata!

staples (although not dingy) is a perfect example.
most people dont think staples when they think consoles.
you'd be sure to find one there on the 15th
