I don't understand why sony won't motivate the retailers to put measures in place to prevent scalpers from getting all the stock?
Sony: Hey retailer!! you want more stock? Implement Multi-factor authentication + captcha + unit purchase limit (1 per customer) + credit/debit card usage limit (once per day) and you'll get even more stock!!

So how do you know that the console can't be unlocked via some hardware/software modding as well? Anyway you look at it, permanently locking the console for sharing ps+ collection is wrong.. ban the accounts and/or ban the games from the console.

Jim Ryan doesn't give a fuck about playstation in asia in general, Just look at the ps5 launch in those regions...some countries "launched" with no ps5 stock for people to buy on launch day!! ps5 in still yet to launch in some countries in that region, so yeah... not surprised with the Japan Studio guys leaving. Playstation asia is a low tier market as far as jim ryan is concerned.

good lord, so what if the new consoles had not yet been released? would cdpr still have released these muddy looking versions for last gen? ps4 and xb1 look like afterthought versions

Why am I not surprised? The sony reps in those countries are purely shite heads.. they do ABSOLUTELY nothing to market/push sony products. To them its just a job that pays the bills and nothing more. Even the dualshock 4 back button attachment isn't available in malaysia. I won't be surprised if most gamers in the region get their ps5s from singapore, those reps there know what they're doing.
I'm starting to get the feeling that sony wasn't really prepared to release the ps5 this year.. From the livestreams it seemed all the japanese youtubers were all streaming from the same room (probably 1 after another) which means most likely only 1 ps5 was available??? I do hope I'm really wrong but I have a bad feeling about this sony/ps5 release with sony's current approach.
Embargoes or not I've gotten more info on series X as of now than whatever it was sony was hoping to accomplish with the ps5 today.
Sad to say this.. but none of the japanese youtubers' livestreams revealed anything new about the ps5. No stream showed the ps5 ui, heck none of the youtubers were allowed to carry/hold the console. It's just the youtubers playing astro's playroom, godfall, dmc5 and 1 other game i can't remember the name... Nothing we've not seen before. Sony's PR team is really dropping the ball.
