WTH?!?!?
another videogame related article from society&religion.com... I guess there's nothing else exciting happening on the "society & religion" side of things.
Have they just been acquired by Ziff Davis...
If you actually read the article, it makes sense. He isn't saying that the 720 will be the stronger console, it's simply stating that if the current trend continues... 360 slightly weaker than PS3, than most multipolar form games will be built to the lowest common denominator. It's not worth the extra time/money to make a "better" version.
If the 720 bucks the trend, and is more powerful, than it'll be the other way around.
Very interesting. I just hope that Microsoft as a whole isn't stretching themselves out too far. Microsoft is still a giant company, but it isn't the giant it once was.
I don't know the numbers, but from what I've always heard the X-Box division of MS hasn't been the most profitable even with this generations success. How much money can MS keep dumping into the X-box/Entertainment division before the Investors say, this is enough.
On a si...
well... the playstation app is confirmed for iOS and Android devices. And in today's world if its not already on your computer/device you can just download it.
I would if I knew how... how do you do that?
He titled the piece this way to get maximum click through. He never makes comparisons to the PS4 or Wii U. He's just listing possible 720 features.
The author knew exactly what he was doing when he titled this piece. Unfortunately these days it's all about the click through. #flamebait
bubble for you... btw since when did society&religion.com (never heard of them) start writing about videogames? so random.
Pretty cool! I'm pretty sure this is true!!! The tech isn't that complicated, the guy did it with a Wii! I'm sure the Kinect 2.0 can pull this off... even the new PS4eye, yea guys that thing will be able to do it as well, it uses dual cameras to track you specially so it'll track your head movement.
I really doubt the tech for this will actually track your eye movement tho... and hears the reason why, your eye moves around way more than you think and it isn...
but what if in the end you end up paying more? what happens if you miss a payment? do they brick your console and send someone to get it from you? How do you get approved for a subsidized console? Will you need to have your credit checked like a cell phone contract?
All valid questions that I hope gets answered at E3. Because for some subsidized is the way to go, even if its more expensive in the long run.
edit: hahaha... I got a disagree for asking a questi...
he was commenting on this article referencing an older article. I don't know about Mr.Lottes opinions having no "merit"
I don't get it, when a person who is educated in this field gives his opinion... he gets slammed for it. He was an engineer at Nvidia, he likes to blog about tech stuff and he made an educated guess, albet it's based on "rumors." Would his opinion hold more "merit" if he had praised the next Xbox?
yes, I hope it is equal to the PS4 for the sake of ports! I just find the the word "beast" to be funny... and I do rather enjoy the Internet!
beast! lol
I love the internets!
I don't see it, unless someone sells a controller that clips onto your tablet/phone. Seems like a lot of work to bring out your tablet and a tablet stand and a controller to play a 720/PS4 game. I think they're better off just letting us play iOS/Android style games they create for LIVE/PSN... but that's just me.
well... The truth I suck at Sim style racing games, I'm so bad at them. I was actually pretty good at playing Shift! But I do enjoy the GT's of the world, I just suck at it.
@shutUpAndTakeMyMoney
Dude, calm down. You ripped into consoles for no reason. He just said "waste of money" Did he say "waste of money, get a PS4"? Get that chip off of your shoulder he wasn't attacking PC's.
back to the topic at hand, isn't it a waste of money tho?
it was unoptimized code so they had to go balls out to make sure their unoptimized code would run smoothly. I'm sure when it's optimized ...
@rainhell77
Live or PS+... I have neither! I only know what I've read about both services.
Here's what I've heard.
Live, awesome online support (don't know what that means or what that entails) and crossgame chat (?) where you can be playing a game, online or not, and talk to your buddies.
PS+, downloads take longer than they should. no crossgame chat... FREE games every month discounts at the PSN store.
this started off as a good post until... "the most first party studios." Is that even true? That's an actual question cause I don't know. I always thought, especially this gen, that MS focused on 3rd party DLC timed exclusives and that it was Sony who invested heavily in 1st party.
I honestly don't consider better graphics as "innovation"
Wasn't Crysis 3 built for high-end PC's in mind and then ported down to the "shit" consoles as you put it. How well has Crysis 3 been received? The reviews usually go something like this: "The visuals are AMAZING, but"
Crysis 3 was design and built for high-end PC's. This was their chance to innovate, and they did... on the graphics side. AMAZING looking ga...
@Pjuice
"not trying to cater to everyone and water down games to make sales"
I honestly think that your mentality is kinda what's wrong with "some" PC gamers. As soon as some PC gamers hear it's coming to PC & consoles you guys jump to the conclusion that the game is watered down... because it's coming to consoles as well.
What do you mean by "watered down" are you referring to graphics? If you ar...
Come on, I enjoyed Shift! That cockpit view and sense of speed... awesome! Ferrari racing... not so much.
Damn you auto-correct!!! *multiplatform
