Agreed, I am also glad to see a video game showing progress in visuals rather than a reversal. This whole Watch Dogs fiasco left a bad taste in my mouth but clearly other developers can do it right.
Blizzard will announce WoW coming to next gen to compete with ESO, Everquest and Final Fantasy. Slated for 2016.
I agree, some stories simply aren't dynamic. Cinematic experiences like movies can not be altered so why should a game of the sort be? Hell, Uncharted is pretty linear and that game is halla acclaimed (as it should be).
To the people complaining about the load of graphics news and lack of gameplay news regarding this title, this is a prime example of hypocrisy. We are in a new generation, the BEST way to show off the new hardware is by providing the latest in graphics technology. This title is going to be one of the big "wow" moments gamers have as we enter this gen in its infancy. I am sure the gameplay is going to be solid and I'm sure we will see more about it closer to release and especiall...
This is exactly what I said and what I continue to say. Unified memory is a GREAT hardware architecture improvement for gaming in general. This isn't even something achieved this well with PC's due to the nature of the beast. PC's do not focus on gaming first, they focus on a multi-purpose resource driven OS that needs to be compatible across a spectrum of unique devices. Utilizing this technology on the PS4 will be extremely easy/beneficial to developers.
As a Sony gamer, I honestly want Microsoft to come heavy at E3. I look forward to getting an Xbox eventually for its exclusive experiences. This generation has so much healthy competition that I'm thankful to be alive to live through it!
It's not even really that bad though. Sure it's not as good, but is it bad? Absolutely not.
Anyone notice that Sly Cooper has been arrested in one of these picks? Because I've never noticed that even when I played -.-
Texture streaming is a great optimization, no doubt but what about dynamic animations? When character models have a super complex amount of geometry that has to be interpolated every frame to animate, the data has to be sent across the bus and back again. Now someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure that with unified memory on the PS4, it allows developers to access data on both the CPU and GPU simultaneously (as a locked resource I assume)but there should technical...
"The fact that I cant simply switch seamlessly between each game whilst still sat comfortably from my sofa is an irritant and one that I would happily sacrifice the ability to sell the game pre-owned."
All of the games you mentioned could have been purchased digitally you dingus. Really? Is it that hard to get off your couch and switch a disc? At least with a library of discs, your hard drive doesn't govern the amount of games you can access. I'm sorry man, ...
The problem here is that I don't even think this game looks next-gen :(
This website was made 6 days ago, the members have literally nothing in common and there is not a single advertisement on the page. This is not a real gaming blog.
Easily one of the most respectable men in this business. He's seen it all and it's great to hear him shed some light on the current state of gaming.
I'm sure there is a lot of people who, like me, are definitely buying the PS4 but feel no pressure to pre-order it.
Devs have already said that certain features will look better on the PS4, like water for instance. If the next Xbox was more powerful, I doubt this would be the case. We spent a whole generation seeing multi-platform games look SLIGHTLY better on the 360, I think it will be different this time around.
Obviously they are making Assassin's Creed IV for the Vita like they did with Liberation. get it? You'll be 'hooked' for hours? That was the only thing needed to be said.
I am so excited about the next gen. Sony blew me away and it only excites me more to see what Microsoft will bring to the table. I'll most likely be supporting both next gen consoles depending on the content available for them. These are the days that make gaming worth it to me.
Remember from Ground Zeroes the guy with the messed up face? Maybe that is the person helping captain hook (Snake) in this video and they somehow go against each other?
It makes sense, up until the point of the flaming whale & unicorn. Boss doesn't have a prosthetic arm. The correct eye is bandaged though. Personally, I think it's about cloning process, maybe this isn't Boss, maybe this is a facility full of faulty clones.
Fallout MMO, you heard it here first folks!
But seriously, I'm excited because SOE has been doing great things in recent years.
