Oh, wow, another game where I get to spend hundreds of hours doing the same bullsh*t over and over. When will designers learn that forcing people to get a billion headshots or complete the same stage 500 times isn't fun? Here's hoping it isn't as bad as Gears of War - 100,000 kills for one achievement? F*ck off.
Yeah, I think you're spot on. Link doesn't talk because he's meant to be 'you'. In OoT and WW this worked favourably because Link's interesting, but in TP he's essentially pretty dull, showing no development, involvement or emotion while he runs back and forth in a storyline that is so contrived it is glaringly obvious that it was created from the top-down rather than the ground-up in order to fit with the standard ganondorf/zelda/triforce bulls**t.
Xbox owner by any chance, Rhoic? Anyway, your stupid question has a simple answer: you have that 'feeling' (and by 'feeling' you mean angry twitch) because you're an Xbox fanboy and the game is an Xbox exclusive. You see, Rhoic, I don't have a bizarre emotional attachment to my consoles, unlike most on here, so I have no silly agenda to push. I think the game is sh*t, so I say it's sh*t. Simple.
The only remotely good thing about this game is the nostalgia-inducing references to the previous games. If you cast that aside, it is absolutely not a good game. It's sadly obvious from the level design, controls and bad-but-not-in-a-good-way story that the talent that was once at Rare is now gone. The old games were fantastic (better than Mario IMO) and I'm pissed off that they messed it up so badly.
By-the-way, out of curiosity, where have the old Rare staff all gone? Did they...
In TP it was almost like the game was built from the ground up with no aspirations; like they thought nothing more was needed than merely repeating the tried-and-tested collect-a-few-things-cue-twist -then-collect-some-more-then-s ave-zelda formula. There was no mystery, no cliffhangers, no awe. It was the same world, with the same characters, and same story (save a few nuances). In OoT the world became 3D and was truly awesome in its time (Hyrule in TP was not - it was overly expansive and t...
Oh, be quiet. It's plainly obvious to everyone except the thickest gamer-loon that you're as much of a droning fanboy as those you're criticising. In any case, who honestly cares what a bunch of pubescent bollocks say about littlebigplanet? Ignore them and you'll not only make them go away, you'll p*ss them off.
You wouldn't catch Einstein, Oscar Wilde, Shakespeare or the like arguing about this sh*t would you? It's f***ing stupid.
is how I would describe the demo. The vehicle physics are atrocious, the story is *unbelievably* s**t (it makes the Mario games' plotlines read like The Lord of the Rings). It's so inane it's annoying. It's like they hashed it together the day before the deadline. The bread and butter of BK - the 'jiggy' quests - are cr*p on their own and nowhere near the level of BK and BT, but when the reason for doing them makes no sense, you lose all interest. They've even managed to lose the soul of prev...
... does all this stuff always come out just before exams start? Last summer it was GTA; now this.
I didn't know that it was impossible to steal US government secrets over the web.

By-the-way, read the whole article if you're planning on replying.
When most people can't even afford to buy petrol (gas) or go for a night out they're most certainly not going to splash £300 (or equivalent) on a couple of decent PS3 exclusives and a blu-ray player when you can buy an Xbox for half the price, get its - I believe - more numerous decent exclusives and either download your films or stick to perfectly fine DVDs.
In my opinion the only people who don't own an Xbox or PS3 at the moment are mostly those who are (or were, in the Xb...
It took only 150 people to make GTAIV; 200 to make ocarina of time. I don't know what he means by 'small', but, as someone looking forward to this game, I'm much happier knowing that a small, intimate team of developers is working on it, rather than a hosh-bosh case of too many cooks spoiling the broth.
Plus, when they continually hold off its release, even against angry tirades from the public, because they're not satisfied with it yet you know this game is very likely going to be top-...
What he says about shooters on the 360 really is true. No other console comes close.
I'm not arguing that this WILL be s***. If it's good I'll get it; I doubt it will be though. All I'm saying is keep and open mind.
The way you're complaining about it makes me think you're one too. Don't get frustrated by it; he doesn't own an X360 (no matter how much he lies and says the opposite) and doesn't want his investment to be overshadowed. Childish, and downright unintelligent, behaviour like that is to be pitied.
This guy above, Vanderbeek (has he even played it?) slams this article for being even mildly critical, and then he gets 3 agrees. I think this game always seemed like it was going to be s*** in the end. I watched all the videos, read all the previews and I still did. The idea sounds nice, but the game is quite obviously not going to be perfect for a number of reasons. And it's now nice to have someone (in the form of ths article) bring a refreshing change to all the fawning and sucking up goi...
It seems that Microsoft has no limits for the production of these Halo games. Couple that with the reduction in responsibility of the - in my opinion - very mediocre Bungie and you have one very excited chap right here. While I'm on the topic, I've been sort of regretting getting my Xbox for a while. Well, not quite, but I've never really used it that much, but Microsoft really seems to be firing on all cylinders to get us the best software available. I'm looking forward to the next couple of...
Don't forget Infinity Ward in the UK.
Personally, I think it looks like a pile of guff. The online content is going to be so-so at best; who's honestly going to enjoy pointlessly drawing more and more levels using dumbed-down, limited, unsatisfying editing software? Moreover, who's going to enjoy playing them?
And it doesn't seem like the developers are concentrating whatsoever on the pre-built story. I say 'story', but is there even one? Are we supposed to just flop aimlessly around levels? It's a nice idea, I suppose, bu...
You even get blu-ray fanboys. It's all well and good self-justifying your investment, but I'm afraid the article is right. Ignore your prejudices and it's plain to see.
I notice that these guys have gone to the same school of gun mechanics and ballistics as every other developer. It's always the same: they spend years and $millions working on graphics, gameplay, AI, etc, but they'll almost invariably mess up the guns. The only company that comes close is Infinity Ward. You guys might not notice it, but I do, and I think it's very lazy and unprofessional.
