might last a week? uh, today would be that week mark you're referring to...
i'd say more like 2 weeks.
iunno, if i were getting into gaming and wanted a PS3, i'm not so sure i'd lay down $300 right now. i'd likely wait for PSN to come back up, then take the plunge.
maybe... lol
^^ lol >.<
are you seriously saying Sony's shares are more important than knowing early on that your personal info had been compromised so you could take proper action to protect yourself???
wow. just... wow
@below
i've been identity theft-ed before. it's no walk in the park, let me tell you.
yup, that's what i voted for - PSN cards from now on
removed my info from xbox live, too.
so the 21st for US? sounds good!
YES! cannot wait to get my hands on this!
"If you remember your PlayStation Network password, now would be a good time to change it via the Internet, as Patrick also states."
lol yep, with you guys. how are we supposed to do that while it's down? fail
i agree. both!
I'M GLAD SOMEONE IS STICKING UP FOR US GAMERS!
apparently Sony has made gamers so blind that they don't even seem to give a crap.
everyone should be upset at the fact that it took them 6 days to tell us that our personal/financial information had been compromised. everyone!
on top of that, their security is obv a joke.
Anonymous hacks the network, it goes offline.
they stop, it goes back online.
Sony acts as if it was ...
yeah they notified us alright... 6 days AFTER our information was stolen!
he's right to be upset. and i think it's ridiculous that there's even ONE PSN user on here that isn't outraged by this!
c'mon guys, expect more from a multi-billion dollar company
actually... now that they've told us what happened... i think we deserved to know SOONER that our personal info has been compromised
please, raise your hand if you like to wait to find out when someone has stolen your info...
so that's what i was afraid of. it's taking so long because they're basically rebuilding their security. yep, another weekend without PSN for sure =/
sad day indeed
do you not think it's strange that they haven't detailed wtf is going on???
that is my point. being kept in the dark isn't cool, i don't care what it's about.
i didn't say anything regarding PSN being down until today. i have no problem with it being down for a couple days, even a few...but it's been a week almost. was the PSN really that broken to begin with?
finally something. thanks for posting this.
yep, great weather for people who aren't severe allergy sufferers. by severe, i mean can't function outdoors because of pollen.
can't wait for June!
well you just explained why so many people are complaining. this isn't the 90's anymore. i remember those days. but now, developers are focusing more on MP than SP.
so back in the day, i'd have agreed with you. today, because things have changed, nope. when you focus on MP and need a service to utilize MP, it's pretty fail when the service is down for an extended period of time.
actually, i have no idea as to why it's down, since no official statement has been released by Sony. citing "external intrusion" is extremely vague. from a developer standpoint... i'm actually in college studying to be a programmer.
i don't care about the articles and what not. i just want some info. like most other folks.
being kept in the dark can mean many things, including them not having a clue as to how to fix whatever the issu...
it's complete horse sh*t that Sony won't even issue an official statement as to why it's down, what's being worked on, and an estimated time that it will be back online. their silence is only making the situation worse.
not sure about others, but i'm not blaming Sony for what happened, not mostly anyway.
whomever hacked it is of course at fault 99%
but it is Sony's fault for holding what was going on from us if it was this serious.
it's also Sony's fault partially for not having better security to keep such information safe. (i know it's hard to do that because there will always be an exploit, but the service was JUST hacked before this happened, ...
