Well, Portal 2 for starters, would've been nice to buy one version of the game and have it across several platforms.

Indeed PS3 already has some Steam support, but there's no guarantee Micro$oft won't put in any degree of Steam, it's just.. Unlikely.
But if they did add Steam, it would be better for the gamers, believe it!
I'd love to see Steam coming to the X360, but it's highly improbable..
Microsoft wouldn't see my money coming in, for one thing, regarding purchases and re-purchases of games. I'm just not buying the same thing for two systems.
On the OTHER hand, I'd be more inclined to buy something if it was for both my PC and my 360.

Video games were a pretty big part of my childhood, and they resulted in my becoming more well rounded, just look books, television, nature, etc.

OtherOS DID NOT open the PS3 to piracy, the REMOVAL of OtherOS did. Almost nobody used it as a Linux machine, but by taking away an advertised feature, Sony angered the wrong set of people...
