I respect that the author has an opinion, but after four years of PS3 ownership, the following is my reply to each point:
1. Sony is holding back PS2 emulation - The emulation components cost money, and Sony would rather have a better price point, and offer affordable solutions that include HD graphics and trophies. I prefer the idea, personally.
2. The price of failure - While I know hardware issues exist, I don't know anybody outside of internet for...

Metal Gear vs Splinter Cell? Well, at least it's only a visual comparison, because Splinter Cell would get sniped by Metal Gear if gameplay or story were factored.
That was a great summary. I got ME1 for PC about a year ago for only $5, and while it was amazing, ME2 is substantially better in delivery.
I recommend this to the highest degree. This will be one of the funnest games you ever play.

If you love cars or racing, and you don't have this game. GET TO IT!
This is my favorite racing game of all-time. You'll be playing this for years. Nothing beats racing around Nurburgring in a different car everyday, and Polyphony Digital has proven that it will keep putting out outstanding patches to keep enhancing the game.
Everyone else's is (assuming you don't have <10 year old kids in the house).
LittleBigPlanet 2 is a potential Game of the Year.
