Leave it to a fucking snowflake to call out Mario on "Gender Politics"... Holy shit... Really?
You realize that even old consoles ran games at 60fps right? Im talking the Sega Genesis era to now. 60fps has been around on consoles for a long time. Its totally on the development team, the producers, and whether or not they want to pump a game out quick or fully optimize it first.
Holy shit! Really?! Gears 4 60 fps? Damn... Glad i haven't started it yet. Its been sitting on my shelf for almost a year now, ive just been busy with other games. Ill definitely have to play it once i get my Xbox One X now!
Apart from Gears 3, those are odd titles to be headliners.
Its nice but $1 for 100 silver trophies isnt really worth the amount of time and effort.
Its not free if it requires a paid subscription...
There will always be people who are willing to pay for it and as long as there are people willing to pay, then yes, microtransactions are here to stay. You dont have to like it but its true. Gaming has become more profitable than Hollywood now so yes, you can bet that companies will do anything and everything to keep it that way.
They actually do own a crap ton of IPs, they just dont care about them. Theyd rather put all their money on Forza, Gears, and Halo. Hopefully theyll get their shit together now after all the bashing they got over barely releasing anything this whole year.
While im sure the game is good. It doesnt surprise me. This game could be garbage but IGN has been caught accepting payment for favorable reviews before. I always trust an imperfect score so i can see a legitimate gripe about a game. No game EVER has deserved a 10/10. Every game has at least 1 thing about it that sucks. Hearing a reviewer gripe about a legitimate concern shows an honest review.
Debatable controls? IGN gives it 10/10.
@JaggedCarpet im talking about Mario 3D World getting the same review score as Sunshine and Mario 64. That proves my point enough i think. Had Mario 3D World been the exact same game but with different characters not Mario related it would have gotten a 30/40 at best.
The industry didnt learn anything from E.T. Oh well, ive got enough games to tide me over for the next gaming industry collapse.
38/40 review for that game shows how reviewers will give any Mario game a near perfect score regardless of whether or not its actually good.
Many current gen console games are 60fps... Even the PS2 had games that ran at 60fps. It comes down to optimization and thats what im asking for. If they do away with 4k assets in 1080p mode then it really shouldnt take too much work. Like i said many developers have already done this... So its possible.
Might actually buy the game now. People bitching about this dont understand how the industry works. Would it be nice to get rid of loot crates all together? Hell yeah! But thats how the industry works. As games become more and more expensive to make that means they have to charge more to make their money back. Thats pretty obvious right? Ok well in order for them to make their money back theyd have to charge $100+ a game. Well data shows an overwhelming amount of consumers refuse to pay that....
Id rather have an optimized 60fps in 1080p.
I think we can all agree Lionhead got extremely lucky with Fable 1 & 2. Fable 3 should never have happened if they had actually cared about that IP.
@megamanxxx didnt Microsoft already state this is their last console? There wont be a next gen for them. They are trying to move everyone over to PC and its working pretty well for them. Thats the only way your statement has merit.
If you want to be able to kill anyone then you'll have to. Thats what "pay to win" means. The game will be unbalanced as fuck, but you wana give em your money and theyll keep doing this to more and more games. So far every major fall release this year has microtransactions that make their games "pay to win" and thats not a good trend.
A better CPU would have been nice but i understand they went with the one they did to keep costs down.
