had a really good time with this game at PAX East. The lighting effects are probably the very best I've seen in a game this generation.
But the truth is Square Enix and their Final Fantasy series are genre defining. They have always been visionaries and they're never scared of taking chances. More often than not the risks they take work out in their favor.
people gaming without knowing that they are. Pure. Genius.
It does in fact use the Un real engine for single player and Frostbite 2.0 for multi.
Fear not, as the way they use unreal looks awesome!
it really ads a sense of humanity to the game. Makes it feel a lot more realistic than other Modern Shooters.
As far as the beta goes, we know it's using the Frostbite engine, the same from Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and that isn't too shabby.
From what I saw during the EA NYC Media day, this game looks VERY promising.

The article doesn't say it wont happen, it just points out the all to obvious limitations that no one else has been taking into consideration. The lack of HDMI 1.4 is the biggest issue because it's an actual, dare I say, hardware limitation of the PS3.
