now this type of statement I agree with!
MULE
ELITE
PACMAN
STARCONTROL
ZORK
ULTIMA
MARIO
all at one time or another have been the best of their era and none of them overshadow the achievements of the other. All are great games and deserve to be called the best game.
yes it does have 3 general purpose cpus... but the spus can do anything a gpcpu can do but they take more steps
at the faster clock rate those steps are faster though and complete in much the same time as they do on on the gpcpu.
Images used to show why a subjective viewpoint is a bad thing for rating an absolute product....
It does... for 480p
and 2x for 640p
otoh 720+ it is a different story
SPEs are turing complete and thus can do anything a standard processor can do ^_-
but they may not be able to do some functions as fast.
so yes they can be compared to regular cpus
learn computer engineering next time ok?
sorry no frame rate issues for me....
were are you seeing them exactly?
and yet critics can be wrong
the game has issues... so of course it is not perfect
if it is not perfect... it doesn't deserve a perfect score
if it has a perfect score... it's because critics were paid off.
I hate approving rumors... but this is to cool to pass up.
Well I don't agree with all his ideas I do think that they are a great starting point for game design discussions. So Approved!
value is a guess....could be much less... probably not more.
It's for both
Play magazine had a huge review on it and the developer is aiming at 360, PS3, PC
Depends on what you mean is unstoppable...
Nintendo has been in this position before, SNES. and so has Sony...
I totally will own this title... I am actually looking forward to it because of the Lucasarts inspire stylings.
That the graphics and controls are better then the X360 version is a given... with almost an entire year of refinements It had better be improved. The additional modes of play are welcome as well.
Just we all should remember that it's the same going the other way as well...UT3 - with a year more development I do hope that they address the issues that the PS3 a...
there is something horribly wrong with a scoreing system where something that is not perfect can get a perfect score.
Flaws = deductions from score. If game reviews allow perfect scores when the game is flawed then the scoreing system is flawed and should not be used anyway.
of course my personal belief is that most games are in the 6.0 (Halo, Heavenly Sword, Gears, God of War) category and the truely exceptional could hit 8(Bioshock) and the near perfect 9 but none - sh...
many of us do that as well..
It's why people still buy magazines vs eblogs. A hard tactile feedback system is totally wired into the human brain... you don't own something unless you can feel it.
Oh you can modify code - but that modified code now belongs to the middleware provider if not directly but by proxy. You have a license to their engine but they have access to all your code.
Middle ware is great for a lot of things but being vertically integrated doesn't hurt either.
Startups should almost all use middleware (cost and development time are paramount)but if you have a decent size nestegg and a good reputation I recommend doing your own thing rather then licensing....
"It's already a given that the newest chapter in Take-Two Interactive Software Inc hit criminal franchise will be the biggest game of 2008, with up to $400 million expected in sales in its first week."
hmmm I hate counting chickens before they hatch... I wish the industry did as well. There are other games out there that could give GTA a run for its money as biggest of 2008.
More circuits does not mean better or faster in many cases
Cisc vs Risc design
pipeline design
cache style
etc can all increase circuit count without a corresponding increase in performance.
then there is total design change - want to change how you process an element? you may need an entirely new circuit design that uses more circuits for the same speed or slower - but the method of using that element is improved...
Of course ...
yep
I bought it ... and in the six times I played it I have been stuck in the geometry six times.
The Witcher comes to mind...
probably game of the year but since it is small market and not reviewed much it will be passed over in favor of GTA
