Because each side will try to give you a reason to only have their console of choice. I am too weary of the subject to give a list of said reasons.
The responses show the insane level of fanaticism on the Sony side of things. It sounds stupid, but over the years its not Sony, but Sony fanboys that have turned me off to the brand.

I kind of go by price, when the 360/Ps3 drop to 149.95 I would expect the next gen to not be far away.

They can't elaborate, but I will. You stated something that was in the realm of something they perceived as bitching about the network being down. If you had stated that it is no big deal, take your time Sony, attaboy Sony, you would have gotten agrees.
