In my opinion Infamous was the sleeper hit. Nobody in the press was expecting it to be such a cool game. All the press previews were quite positive of this game.

I think with the ever increasing cost of game development, industry may want to move to a single console. But its pretty much impossible as Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft doesn't want to see each other faces.
EA is already considered as an Evil entity among gamers. I am not sure releasing a console would be such a great move.
I agree with you. The main reason is Sony has tons of Internal Development studios all of them making exclusives for PS3 and we know all of them have delivered amazing games on the ps2. While Microsoft is really lacking in this dept. I wonder why they don't put money in internal studios rather than spending money snatching exclusives and neutralizing them.
Fable 2 is the next big RPG, if it delivers on the promises.
Gears 2 will be the best selling game of the year on 360. The multiplayer modes are simply insane.

Sony had a strong showing compared to MS and Nintendo. But Sony didn't really showed any stunning announcements. I think they are holding it for Leipzig

The lightening effect was literally jaw dropping. The graphics and characters models were pretty good considering its a sandbox game. Infact it is one of the best looking sandbox games.
One of the thing I noticed in this game and every other sandbox game after GTA4 is that the people in the world doesn't feel as lively as they were in GTA4. We need to see more of this game to pass any sort of judgment.
This game looks much better in motion. Screenshots don't do justice to this game.

I was hoping they would announce a JAK game. I mean just imagine JAK game running on Uncharted engine. It will be hard pressed what kind of leap we see from there engine, as Uncharted is still one of the best looking games on Console.
That is one of the reason they don't care about third party exclusive. They know for the cost to acquire a third party exclusive, its better the invest that amount in first part developers. Which is where Sony's real strength is, which is why Sony will not be a big loser. We know that they are cooking up something big. TeamICO is the one I am most excited about. Let see what Sony announces at Leipzig.

One thing that was odd this year, is that Sony really didn't push Killzone 2 at this year E3, may be they wanted to focus on Resistance 2, which is not a bad thing in my opinion. But I think GG and Sony should show a more urban environment at this year Leipzig.
No the relationship is fine, they are just trying to create buzz. I remember the time they created buzz with 4 player coop mode.
Its going to be pretty hard to pick up game of the year between LBP and MGS4.
My Prediction
Resistance 2 = best fps 2008
Gears 2 = best tps 2008
Best RPG = Fallout3 or Fable 2
Best Action game = MGS4
Best Platformer = LBP
Best MP = R2 (although Gears 2 modes are insane)
Best Looking game = MGS4

Oh nice to see a shift in perspective, I remember they were saying that they will sell more HW. Ofcourse 360 has a huge installbase now.
My only question to microsoft and everyone else is, will 360 would have sold that much, if all 3 consoles would have released together?

Well if u look at this footage and the footage released on that Gamer.nl site, the levels shown at E3 surely lacked polish compare to the latest build shown in the recent footage. Hopefully this game will look amazing when it is released.
