I do believe NisAmerica is not that big of a company, and it usually takes them a year. I agree with other big companies it really does suck.
What happened to Square Enix attempting to tap into the western market? You can do that by releasing your games worldwide at the same time. Oh I forgot, you decided to take cheques from Microsoft instead and drop PS3 support altogether for a few years, thanks.
Hope that includes bug fixes as well. This feels a lot like the "Director's Cut" of Star Ocean 3, but more changes. In fact, the colour of the logo for International is fuschia which was the same for Star Ocean 3 Director's Cut.
Unless Microsoft is willing to hand out some nice cheques for development to reimburse the developers, then I don't think we'll be seeing many more "exclusive" jrpgs for the xbox.
What evidence do you have to prove your statement?
There seems to be some bugs in the current game. I would definitely like to see those fixed, sort of like a Star Ocean 4: Director's Cut, like what they did with the third of the series.
Well said, why would a PS3 owner want to play the same game that was already released a year earlier on the Xbox360. Its not blackmail at all. It just helps with more sales for Sony, which benefits NamcoBandai anyways. Is it really that difficult to add on some things with the foundation completed?
Well said, but it seems Square Enix deemed the PS3 not worthy given its low sales. Heck if Microsoft was willing to pay for their games, why not take the cheque. Then release the said game later on for the PS3 when the fanbase is big enough. With the PS3 slim, GT5 and FF13 around the corner, they are doing just that now. It's all about the money.
Not only is the PS3 release great news, but the option to have Japanese VA is also a plus. If they decide to add additional content, then Xbox360 gamers will get shafted again as "beta testers".
Was there ever any doubt :)?
With GT5, FF13, GOW3 looming, Sony is looking mighty fine.
Honestly Square Enix was probably waiting until the PS3 was at a price like this before releasing any titles for it. In the meantime, they would make loads of money on handhelds, and gain cheques from Microsoft.
The rpgs keep coming!
Even greater numbers that will push the PS3.
In an ideal world where you could throw infinite money around like that I'm sure Sony would, but lets not kid ourselves.
I'm going to wake up tomorrow and see this news flooded with over 100 comments...
Sometime last Fall...
Random fanboy: No PS3 Eternal Sonata release for America, look at ToS!
Today...
Random fanboy 2: American release since ES came out here.
Random fanboy 3: No PS3 ToV release for America, look at the history of Tales!
And the cycle continues...
Good job Sony. Consider a price cut + new colour for an extra bang.
I expect to see this out 10-12 months after the Japanese release in North America courtesy of Nisamerica!
Old school rpgs are one of my favourites. Something about the gameplay that always makes it fun, you can definitely count on NisAmerica to bring it over.
Mana Khala?... Mana Khemia*
It sure took them awhile to announce a PS3 release. Surely Microsoft had nothing to do with that ;)?
