It's always better to do something and then ask for forgiveness later than to not do something and miss an opportunity. Does that apply here? no, but Bungie sure thinks so...
But seriously, I'd rather them put MT's in and do the DLC free much like Halo 5 and Gears 4. Doesn't detract from the experience and doesn't give any players any 'edge' over another. When you join someone elses game you can't even interact with their key NPC's and such so no one can hop in your game and ruin you with bought items.

As far as comparing each ones Battle Royal mode... since that's all PUBG has, then PUBG wins hands down if you're looking for a more grounded, realistic, tactical shooter. Otherwise if you want more arcadey fun, and other content besides battle royal, Fortnite is a good choice.
