I agree, not really sure what there reasoning was behind those decisions.
LBP was my 2nd choice for GOTY so, giving it all the awards they did are still well deserved, but I would of liked to see some love to MGS4, even people who haven't played the previous games still enjoyed that game, as long as they had a little bit of prior knowledge about (wiki). Personally it was my GOTY.
Can't say I agree with all that list, but it appears they enjoyed LBP haha, and I can't disagree with that :)
lol come on now, I don't know what your looking at.. Gears 2 is good, but it's definitely isn't the best graphics out right now.. Have you even played any ps3 exclusives on an HD tv?
If it was a public vote I'm not so sure GTA4 would have won, I wish it was a public vote, so a more deserving game got chosen :(
Maybe rockstar can make the gameplay good first, then worry about adding some more side missions to sell. They just took the joys that every single GTA has brought to the table, every GTA released there was always a good step forward, it wen't to the ps2 and was 3D and not an above view, then vice city you could use your money for stuff, the story was amazing, and then it had all the great weapons, and gave you a reason to want to 100percent it, everything you did was fun, then you went to Sa...
I have a feeling they didn't want to piss either side of the "fanboy war" off so they chose a multiplat game, which ended with both sides being pissed off that the far superior games weren't chosen.

Well I'm really not that surprised, but disappointed that it actually won. I have loved every single GTA and played them all so much, but once I got to GTA4, I beat the story, then had no desire to play anymore. Our of the options for game of the year, it definitely does not deserve to win, compared to it's competition. It was very over rated, and a big let down to the GTA fan base who have been playing the GTA games since the very first ones.

xbox fanboys have been in full force lately, it is getting very old coming to this site lately and seeing the same ol news articles. With all these crap articles being approved, it's quite obvious that all the xbox fanboys who once ran this website are still there in hiding, loving every chance they get to try and come back and bash the ps3 as much as possible. It's very rare to get any unbiased gaming news anymore.
Good Ol' VGCHARTZ if it supports your console of choice it is "fairly accurate, and good enough to go by", but when it doesn't, then it's "just random guessing, and bad guesses at that, and simply can not ever in any instance be used as a solid source, and should no matter what, be considered nothing short of a page full of lies".

Man I have been losing so much sleep, thinking all night about the PS3 sales and how it is sure DO0M3D foreverrr, nvm.. they aren't going anywhere, back to playing games..
I will buy games for whatever system if they are good games, but unless the game is really cheap, I am not going to buy bad games "just to support a system"..
To be honest I could see what you are saying actually happen, but at the same time I don't think it will. When Sony cuts the price to a competitive price range, I do think sales will pick up, and sales will shoot up fast. I think 2009 will be important for them to make the changes needed, but it's also meant to stick around for 10+ years, so time will tell. If they keep pushing out the quality games that they have been pushing out, and the ones in store for us in 09, then I have no complaints...
I agree to the fact that Sony should shift marketing towards the ps3 and the games that deserve better (LBP for example), but at the same time I can't really complain, I had tons of great games to choose from this year, and gotten all the ones I want. That game may be crap, but in reality for some reason, a reason I don't know why... but 360 owners (not all), but a lot of them will buy anything thrown at them. If Lair or Haze had been released on the 360 in the same condition it was I guarantee it would have gotten decent sales sadly..
Step 1: Look at metacritic, this is always your first choice to bash the competition, if reviewers like your consoles games, and give it better scores then you must always throw that in the face of others.
step 2: Sales: When Metacritic is failing you, and your competition is throwing better review scores in your face, forget everything about step 1, review scores no longer matter, you now play games "for more than what some reviewer thinks", and throw in the face of the compe...
He's telling the truth though, it's just how fanboys are on all sides. I can say confidently that this is a great game, and better than nearly anything out on the market right now (I would say the best, but people have different tastes, and I'm still leaning on MGS4 for that title), The game was hyped, and it exceeded that hype (I'm under the impression that if a game is hyped, its about how good the game is...), and by looking at not only the reviews, but word of mouth from people who ACTUAL...
but that wouldn't exactly be "top secret" :)
