It's been reported that they restarted development 3-5 months before announcing it officially.
We do and we don't. It's a tricky situation. Other consoles are represented by their power. That's all they do. Nintendo consoles always have something more. Some other element that completes the package. We care about graphics because having an even better handheld experience is a unique thing. Having a hybrid console that can give us both the home and portable experience in a neat package is fascinating.
Absolutely nothing. Nintendo toys with the idea of more semi-realistic Zelda games from time to time and fans are hungry for a change of visual style, much like BotW changed to an open-world gameplay style. The article makes the point that Nintendo shouldn't make a "brown" Zelda game but go for a visual style which fuses Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild for the best results. The best selling Zelda games of the last 15 years had art styles leaning toward realism.
Now all they have to do is make it good so people won't be disappointed
That's great but not at all what the article is about. How soon until you are ready to upgrade? What's your incentive to buy a PS5?
I'm guessing you didn't read it did you? The Switch is exactly the type of console that has that "magic". It brings something new to the table. Home console experiences on the go.
Only problem is, the resolution keeps going up and interactivity is left to die. Whatever happened to 1080p with fully destructible environments. That's the dream.
Apocalypse Shadow, read it again. I was referring to VR PS4 games. The games you mentioned are incredible but they are not VR. End of story.
Why isn't Battlefield V fully in VR? Why is RDR2 not in VR? Why not CoD? The "big" titles are missing, whether you accept it or not. VR will reach its full potential with PS5 if devs work hard to make their big games in VR, like RE7.
Because it needs to be affordable and have an acceptable battery life.
I admire your optimism :) We'll see what they have in store.
I love it as well and you would know if you read the article by the way. But how will Microsoft catch my attention with their next console? I already gave $500 and they announce they're working on Scarlett a few months later. How much will their next beast cost and why should I upgrade from the awesomeness that is my Xbox One X?
The PS3 had a rough couple of years at first but you really can't beat its game library. Best of the best.
I appreciate your criticism of my article but here's why I disagree. VR is expensive. Plain and simple. It's not accessible to students or persons with lower incomes (myself included). Also, apart from 2-3 games, VR experiences are simply not there yet. The games offered just aren't on the same level as the normal experiences offered on the platform.
On the matter of Nintendo, they innovate by offering new ways to play that are affordable and mainstream. Touchs...
Maybe graphically but Switch is a hybrid after all. In that same way of thinking, the PS4's portability is not in the same league as the Switch. You can't pick and choose which aspects you compare. It's only when you examine the full picture that you decide which console is right for you.
The base PS4 and Xbox One are not the definitive experience those platforms offer though. The Pro and One X cost more than Switch, which currently has no other version offered.
I kind of agree but the article doesn't exclusively focus on third-parties but "big games" in general. Games that makes you go: "I couldn't do this 5 years ago". If DOOM and Wolf 2 sold poorly, then why would a company be wasting resources to bring DOOM Eternal and Youngblood over?
What do you disagree with exactly?
An opinion piece can be supported by factual references.
I remember seeing reports that development restarted 3-5 months before they actually announced it. Fingers crossed for a 2020 release.
