You can fight against other characters even if you only had jago. Its not locking you into a rotation with jago only players. And by play others you may see someone else you can buy.
This f2p favors vets. Most fighting fans only main 1 or 2 characters. It comes out cheaper for them. Some people can tell who they like based on how they play.
If all you have is jago and you go up against a tj combo and like what you see you may purchase him.
In any case just buy the full game like all the others

actually a lot of them wasn't launch games. resistence and motorstorm sold 3.5 million. my guess is ubisoft thought they would have that 1 to 1 selling game
