You're right, Sony changed their policy after seeing how bad things got for MS. So that leaves the question, what would Sony have done if they revealed their DRM policy first instead of MS? Even if they did drop it after the fact, the public would've torn them a new one instead for going ahead with it, then MS would've stripped theirs and they would be the hero and be leading in sales today.

We'll certainly see if Sony has to do it as well. If so, it's a good thing they patented that anti-used game tech back in 2012 for the PS4. That's some good forward thinking Sony.

You're right, though a timed DLC is not quite the same as an exclusive game. Money certainly does talk and this is one ace in the hole MS has over Sony. All the same just because Rise of the Tomb Raider is an exclusive doesn't mean that Rise of the Tomb Raider: Special Spelunking Edition Black won't be on the PS4. It's all about semantics.

I would like an elaboration on how a game that's 1080p/60fps for both signifies the PS4 version being held back. So you're saying that if there was no X1 version then the PS4 version would be higher than 1080p and running at 75 or 120 fps?

I don't quite understand why you're here. It sounds like you're a PS4 fan and owner so why would you come to an article about Destiny on the Xbox One hitting 1080p now?

@Magnes Having the Kinect plugged in or not has nothing to do with it. The Kinect will still operate fully, the problem prior to the SDK upgrade was that there was 10% processing power immediately locked away for strictly Kinect use in game. Devs had no ability to use this 10% for other things if they didn't want Kinect functionality in the game. Now they do.

All legal documents including the ToS are open to interpretation and just because you read it this way doesn't mean it's not an open door to do whatever they want. Morality and responsibility to the gaming society? I hope you're not referring to Sony. The big difference between MS and Sony is that MS is not the lead platform this gen so now devs are getting whiney about these policies that have been around for quite a while. Sony is not better than MS. Have a look at these articles.
