heres an interesting observationand remember thats all it is:
original xbox sold about 25million units, and had a very low failure rate so few repeat purchases
360 has only sold just under 30 million, in 4 years.
it also had a very high failure rate, going off of just ho i know, one in 3 machines has failed and one in 6 people purchased a replacment to keep gaming while they waited, selling the refurbished when it arrived.

i cant think of very many recent ips owned by ms but i know of 10 by sony
sony at any time can ask naughty dog to make a rac game same as they could ask insomniac to make jak both are sony ips and can be used by any company sony owns and since insomniac and nd are owned in part if not outright... its less of an issue

i will agree with you, had sony put 512 of gdr2/3 ram and kept he 256 xdr it would have been an improvment, but remember rsx can steel the stuipidly fast xdr ram if it needs to so clever coders use both rams at different times
upgraded cell ram and rsx2=ps4 i hope then we would see a console shooting forward rapidly out of the starting box

uc is not a shooted or a platformer its both

the levels the banter the puzles bring life to the world
look at prince of persia sands of time compared to warrior within

sony is a bad server: well actually
sony has very little to do with the net browser other then write it
the psn authinication is on there server. but thats about all
dns is opendns is your smart and the isp you use determines the speed of your connection, and since its a gigabit ethernet (likly faster then what most pcs over 1 year run) theres no bottleneck there so... lag from browsing isnt really sonys fault.
in games its usually ptp host...
cost more on both, no dedicated servers, no mods hence pc gamers not happy
uncharted 2 doesnt reinvent the wheel it just makes a damn good one and polishes it to a mirror shine
its not original its just good and polished and it excells at that it is near or at the top of adventure games in terms of polish and completness but its not the best shooter, it doesnt try to be, its not the best brawler or stealth or sim or cooking game or anything it is itself

3 brands power the xbox franchise and they sell they sell well
but it lacks diversity in quality releases
ps3 doesnt sell as many games because each game has a smaller net fanbase,
the fans of lbp wont necessarly buy killzone3 and viceversa
