Dark Souls is a heavyweight in my choosing whether to buy a PS3 or build a PC. This announcement might be the clencher.

When....when will we get over the "novelty" of new hardware? It is made with the intent and purpose of shinier, not better, games.

I like how Irrational Games is getting stuff done. I really look up to them as developers and can't wait for this game.
As long as video gaming exists, a remake will be possible. Just because FFVII didn't get remade in the 7th generation doesn't mean SE won't make it a priority in the 8th or 9th.

Also, the idea of playing a game that's stored and computed on a cloud system is awesome and also probably going to replace systems. That would negate the need to download every game you want to play.
BUT we all know where the content (games) is, that's where the power is.
It'd be cool to have a single system that has an online library of all games (from all systems ever made) that you pay either monthly ...

Game reviews should always be objective, and if that's the case, all reviewers would give a game the same score based on universal parameters.
Truth is, game reviews will never be purely objective - but putting a cold hard numbered rating gives readers the impression they are.
I think the numbers and ratings should go.
How many games have gamers missed out on because they received average scores?

looks kind of fun, I guess - in your face kind of fighting is more exhilarating (of course). Hopefully there is a decent amount of close quarter combat in multiplayer.
I'd like a really cheap Heavy Rain or really cheap KZ3 Helghast edition.
what a coincidence - I just placed an order for the PS3 version from Best Buy. I figured 10 bucks was too good to pass up. California seems like a really sweet setting.
It's nice to see the co. cares enough to do so much fixing/changing. I wonder if the reason it's so cheap at Best Buy is because it's so buggy.
I wish this game came out a year ago. I don't think it's taking so many years for reasons of detail and excellence, I think it's because it hasn't been a main priority. I wonder why not - it looks FANTASTIC and I will absolutely buy this still.

Wow. Next-gen Survival Horror genre will be amazing with this amount of technicality. Like Dead Space 3 or 4, or a new Siren game.
more RAM for what? better graphics? gaming is about much more than just improving visuals... if you ask me, there are much more impressive games from 10-20 years ago than what is out now........
Sony is definitely going after 3rd party publishers to make this system the best of next-gen. They've surely learned from the PS3 that games matter first and foremost, although it took a few years to get really good exclusives out. They need them start, middle, and finish to have a strong console. It's always about the games!
But personally, I think I'm going to go with PC and WiiU for the 8th generation.
