As far as single player story driven games, I still feel the Last of Us is the best.

Gof of War been an excellent experience for me thus far. The combat is intense and weighty, the graphics are excellent, the story is solid, and the productions values are all top notch. That said, God of War's story and characters are not on par with the Last of Us - they just aren't. In my opinion, few movies are on par with the Last of Us, nevermind another video games. TLOU was just on another level.
In my opinion, the Last of Us is a legitimate masterpiece - perhaps the greatest videogame of all time.

Agreed, I struggle switching between melee combat and throwing the axe, especially during tense, fast paced situations. But yeah, the game is a blast.
I've really enjoyed the game so far. Though, I concur with Cnet, the combat is a bit more difficult to master than expected.
Interesting...I didn't even bother finishing this game. I thought it sucked. Combat was very repetitive and the environments lacked any measure of interactivity. Game is essentially a walking simulator. I'm sorry, but no way is this game a 98 - let a alone a game of the year contender.
Without question, the textures are much sharper in the final build. That said, the volumetric lighting looks to have taken a small step back.
Cool, but the game is old as shit now.
It definitely needs a much stronger CPU this time around. Id also like to see a back-up dedicated dual core processor with 4 gigs of ram solely for the OS, eliminating any overhead for the main CPU and RAM.

Its basically a simulated walker with limited to no world interaction and repetitive combat. Graphics are good, at least.
