This article is basically saying that MS has no chance to compete with PS4 this generation and that MS should look towards the next generation.

Gamescon is a bigger conference and gaming event than E3 easily.
Console gaming sales were defiantly declining pretty drastically but that's nothing new for then of the cycle.
You are right it didn't need saving but it needed some life which these new systems did offer.
There is two more games conferences to go. People act as if E3 is the end all be all in terms of gaming news and reveals.
Yes they could. I'm not going to make excuses for these companies. You knew you were launching these systems so work on it.

So PS5 and Xbox One is going to be out again in around 2018-2020 so they better be working on it right now and every feature that is on Xbox One and PS4 better be on it at launch.

The numbers show PS4 is selling a little under double the numbers of Xbox One. 13% vs 7% so it makes sense as PS4 is a little under double the sales. For the last quarter at least overall it's double.

That only shows 20% sales coming from next gen. We are likely to continue to get cross gen on most games till end of 2015.

Xbox is the entertainment hub of all of MS. If it's TV, video, music, gaming it's Xbox branded.
