MS wasn't the first online console, the Dreamcast was...achievements are great fun if you care but they aren't necessarily the biggest things since sliced bread...cloud processing has been around for a minute and again MS didn't create it. BC has been done numerous times in the past, not sure about the cross console mp but in any event, these aren't MS' "innovations", they are MS' iterations on existing ideas.
Shareplay is one of the only act...

Hilarious that you tout Gears when we've only seen a small section that could very easily see the "downgrades" you are on about, but we don't have a second section to compare it to, so that is completely irrelevant to the argument. As far as QB the game does look very great, the character models in the cut scenes look to be roughly on par w/ UC4, the difference being that the heavy fog drops draw distances down to a ridiculously small area, whereas w...
I'm guessing all of the people who said the flight looks weird have never paid attention to a Star Wars film. In this regard the flight may be the most faithful to the films aspect from the game so far....looks just like a dogfight from the flicks to me.
The game looks absolutely amazing and its easily the game I'm most envious of as a ps4 owner. Can't wait to see more and I'm pretty certain this game will review very very well.
As far as the visuals, they are all jawdropping of course but does the fog bother anyone else? I would totally understand the fog being present during a couple sections here and there according to the time of day but it seems like every piece of gameplay we've seen seems to be masking ...
I'm not sure I see the Saint's Row comparison but maybe I'm missing something. Seems like a more serious story driven game to me...I'm super pumped to see a game set during such an interesting time period, and lord knows the soundtrack has the potential to be absolutely amazing...if they can't license a wide range of the best 60s tunes, I'm definitely gonna be making a spotify playlist on my ps4 and hoping I can play it during the game.
To me the Mafia...
I will say that the more I see of it the more impressive it gets. I'm not an mp guy but this game seems to be a true achievement.
That being said, there are still many things to consider at this juncture, including lag potential, data usage & internet speeds. Something like this is fairly revolutionary, but let's not sing all of these praises until we see a proper roll out & stress test.
That is absolutely laughable....it took Square a full year to finally reveal the state of the exclusivity & Ms had absolutely no part in that. "Clear" is exactly what they haven't been about the whole scenario. Also, I never heard any kind of rumor that SFV was coming to all platforms prior to its reveal because i remember it being a surprise right up to the point that it was announced as an exclusive, meanwhile RotTR has always been a multiplat whose prior entry hit both co...
I always fail on the first playthrough in games like these....my gut reactions typically pan out to be the wrong ones haha...I'm just hoping the changes are distinct enough and the gameplay is compelling enough to really force me to keep going back and searching for my perfect outcome. This game could be a big sleeper hit for sure.
Refreshing to hear a bit of honesty regarding the showing really. It looks like it could be a fun game for sure but there really wasn't much shown that would differentiate it from any other combat focused rpg...like you said it was a little framy & not insanely compelling at this point. That could absolutely change as the production matures but going solely off of this showing it doesn't necessarily look like Platinum's best work at this point for my tastes. Even though it was...
Is it possible to not be impressed by a game without being "jealous"? At the end of the day the consoles service different crowds...Quantum Break looks absolutely amazing but I don't really dig Crackdown because I'm not an mp gamer and considering the campaign is being developed by a different dev, it doesn't seem like a huge focus is being put on it. I'm not sold on Scalebound yet either because it looks like fun but not necessarily anything mind blowing for me at t...
@pivot
Those are great ideas. I never even thought about the potential for the final battle in the game possibly being between the brothers....now that would be a gut wrenching finale that breaks the norm of what a boss battle has been up to this point. I can't think of another instance in gaming where it would actively break your heart to have to fight a character. I could definitely see something like that coming to fruition & lending some big emotional weight to t...
Uc1 came out in 2007, uc4 will release in 2016, so 4 games in a full decade can't quite fit the terminology of "milking", regardless of a supplemental handheld release & a card game related to the series in name only
@straya
You obviously haven't played an Uncharted game if you are harping about gameplay....gameplay in the UC games have been perfectly balanced between combat, puzzle solving & platforming/traversal. The TR reboot is great fun but some light crafting & upgrades along w/ some backtracking can't make up for the fact that puzzles were almost non existent. They claim to be adding more tombs but that remains to be seen. Story may not matter as much as gameplay bu...
@Rookie monster
....um, how does one copy a rating? Going by your logic The Interview is a ripoff of The Godfather because they are both rated r.
People need to come off this denial of the similarities between CDs recent output & Naughty Dog's....it is blatantly obvious that the CD guys are inspired by NDs work...that's not a bad thing in the slightest but it's inherently true. The only issue I have is the iconography being basically a carbon...
That was such an underrated game that too many people slept on. The mechanics were pitch perfect, the visuals were an absolute treat & the original dynamic score by HEALTH was easily one of if not the best musical accomplishment in the history of games. Really hope we see another one of these days.
At around the 5:00 mark the discussion shifts to drivable vehicles, first referencing the jet ski in DF, then mentioning the drivable jeep in UC4, then they slip in there "Sams got his motorcycle"....why would they mention an npc in that frame of reference? Could we open the game or have a section where we play as Sam on a motorcycle? After UC3s big surprise opening & TLOU giving control to Ellie, I'd have to assume this new trend would dictate that UC4 would have something ...
It's funny to me that people actually try to downplay the 2-4 Mbps connection & lag potential by saying that the calculations aren't taxing on a connection while MS is saying that the game is utilizing the power of 20 boxes.
In any event, the destructibility is cool but I don't think people should be putting the cart before the horse in this situation because this game & it's cloud features are still untested by a large audience. I know my connection ...
It is absolutely profitable, moreso than most first party games. Look at the sales of games like Destiny on ps4 compared to XBO...considering these companies make their profits off of software, not hardware, selling millions more of a game you only purchased marketing rights to is MUCH more profitable than footing the full marketing & development bill of a game like SSO that only ends up selling around a million. I still think these deals are scaled, so whichever console is the market lea...
What's this "objectivity" you speak of? Forza isn't graphically on par w/ DriveClub, that much seems to be unchallenged. Gran Turismo is a bigger franchise than Forza, that much is also unchallenged. Those are facts, the only thing that is a little sketchy is saying that Forza can't keep up w/ DriveClub when it hasn't been released yet to prove itself. I'm sure it'll be cool if you are a racing person.
What were those other problems? Just a few examples because I saw the short campaign and werewolf bosses as the only real gripe. Most reviewers really dug the weapons & combat and everyone agreed the game was as stable as a brick house.
