To achieve 60 fps is a much more difficult task than getting 1080p, so Microsoft would be doing worse if they switched their focus to framerate over resolution.

Tbh while I'm pissed of that this game is terribly optimized and looks nothing likes its 2012 demo, that bloom effect looks terrible. Notice the amount of white haziness emanating from light sources and it bleeding into everything around it, something isn't right with it.

It makes no sense because they've been competing with AMD for years, production for the latest components don't just magically get cheaper than there older equivalents.

About half your list is comprised of nintendo games, which the writer of the article points out almost never come to PC (save for emulators). Some of those other games are rumoured to have a PC version in the works which the writer also mentions.
It's there game they can do what the fuck they like with it.
This game is the only one I think has a (tiny) chance of being well optimized for PC, the fact they're taking a year to fine tune the game is good to hear, also current gen/PC only might further help that chance.
Witcher 2 aside from a few hiccups at launch, today runs incredibly well and still looks pretty fuckin good.

Steam Machine isn't actually a thing I hope you all realise...It's a PC, same components, same small cases you can easily get right now, same peripherals, same price, same everything.
SteamOS however is actually something. I personally don't see this OS getting the traction it needs as it doesn't have any of the (few) qualities that a console has;

No guarantee that whatever "Steam Machine"(PC) you get will run all...

The reason they get many viewers for there twitch stream easily is not because of all the effort they put into there cosplay/touring conventions (total number of people that go to conventions and have seen these girls and watch twitch and want to watch these girls on twitch will be very very small), it's because they flaunt themselves on camera and guys wants to watch that. They provide a service that guys want to pay for.

I was only making an amusing point in that the difference between touch screen and controller is like the difference between controller and mouse/keyboard. I'm not disputing that the controller is better than a touch screen for FPS.

Best example is that FPS games absolutely suck on mobile devices and consoles. I don't care who you are. You will never be as good on touch controls/using a controller as a person with a keyboard and mouse. I have an iPad/console and have tried to really get into them and I can't. Its not the same. You need a keyboard and mouse.
