It is for the people who care about performance more than made up "filmic" presentation, since one has a direct effect on gameplay while the other doesn't.
Come on people are we watching movies or are we playing games?
Consoles are going backwards, the ps3 and xbox 360 had games running at 60fps near the beginning of their life cycle. Older consoles still it was even more common for it to be at 60 fps.
Wouldn't being highly rated be a prerequisite to being overrated?
I actually agree with all his picks...gone are the days of your quake/unreal tournament/RTS genre/Good Hack n slash games. It's all about immersion, realism and storyline with little to no actual gameplay or completely unchallenging and unskillful gameplay at best.
I know I'm in the minority otherwise this wouldn't be the case but it's been like this for a while now and honestly I've considered on just dropping gaming altogether as I don't see much of ...
how does voting it the best game engine, not make it voted the best engine ever?
The "ever" part of my statement doesn't change anything
@ Pandamobile (no bubbles left) Old engines still get used today alah unreal engine 1 was used for duke nukem forever. So no I wouldn't assume that, and even if I did and that was the case that still doesn't make your claim that the word "ever" changed the meaning of the statement true.
lol first of call calm the fuck down mate... secondly by gameplay you mean the walking around collecting stuff and the occasional thing you have to kill.
This game has even less gameplay than mgs4 and that's what I considered an interactive movie.
Now I'm not saying it's bad or anything I'm just saying that as far as gameplay goes it's definitely its weakest aspect.
I'm not saying anything about the quality of the engine, It's just way too new to be declaring the best engine ever.
Why has this been voted best engine? barely anything has been made using that engine yet...
"Console games are more expensive because of the second hand market, it's built into the cost."
Incorrect, the reason games cost more on consoles is because of the licensing fees that microsoft/sony charge anyone who releases on there consoles.
Valve: "Goooood...Goooood... everything is going according to plan...".
The game itself was above average I would say, I felt the main campaign was a little on the short side but enjoyable enough, it does get quite repetitive especially with the side content but open-world games are generally like that, I did enjoy the virtual trip stuff.
My main problem with the game and ubisoft as a company is the amount of lying they do right to your face during presentations etc. especially when it comes to anything to do with the PC version of a game. It'...
False advertising is wrong, no matter the form. I don't want to be shown something that isn't going to be true, games of the past have been shown features that don't make the final cut aswell (Fable series anyone?).
far cry 3
Depends on the game, cross-platform play on several (most) genres would give a huge unfair advantage to the PC user.
You would think playing games at 60 fps would be enough but sadly that's clearly not the case since console owners generally get 30 fps most of the time for there games or at the very least a variable framerate between 30-60.
Hopefully this will show people who deny they don't see a difference between 30 and 60 fps, that they are simply lying to themselves.
Nothing all I'm saying is that I've read many of this guys articles and I find them always to be either obvious non-news or false.
This guy and in general this websites articles are complete dogshit...
I'm really struggling to tell the difference here, as the ground texture might only be looking better due to time of day. The only other things I noticed were Depth of Field aka blurry unfocused distance in game (probably explains any performance change) and something possibly going weird with the tree during the daytime comparison.
This kind of competition isn't good for the consumer though. While Nvidia is entitled to do whatever they want as a company, as a consumer AMDs current methods are better for us.
I don't pick sides based on brand but based on what's better and right now the way things stand Nvidia is starting to give things I can't get with AMD thanks to exclusive features and effects while the reverse isn't the case with all AMD features available to me regardless of choi...
wow just realised I've gone down a bubble, didn't realise disagrees/agrees actually affected that (figured it was ignores/reports for spamming/trolling etc). I guess I'm done commenting then if I get my ability to comment stifled just because I give an opinion on a given topic.
