What if your xbox got a power boost to be more powerful than a ps4 and plays the dx12 universal windows games and played all the games you already own, so basically a new xbox with all your gaming library and some 360 games all for just $200 on top of what you already payed.
Why do you think Sony is working so hard with their games streaming services.

Exactly that's what people are missing. Think about how much money they make on digital games. They don't really disclose the numbers to the public and they don't disclose the sales numbers either. When they sell a console they might make $20 on each one. But they might make a $40 on a first party physical game and $60 on the digital version. If my memory serves right they do become a part of the xbox service. Because they need to use the xbox app to play the windows 10 xbox exclusive games. So essentially they join the xbox live family.
I don't think that's wat Microsoft is gonna do. They seem to be in a steam box upgradeable console space. They seem to want to make games kinda static in the sense of a pc, where they are always playable regardless of the hardware. I see this as a new way of getting rid of used games. I just hope they have the xbox 2.0 soon. If they are going the route I think they are trying to go.
it comes down to preference at that point, as of now there are things that the xbox offers that the xbox app doesn't. but i think they said that your gonna need windows 10 and the xbox app to play the games tho.
As of now all microsoft first party games are going to pc. but unless you have a very good pc you won't be able to play them.
on metacritic Orie got a 88, titanfall got a 86, rare replay got a 84, GOW Ultimate edition got a 82, dead rising 3 got a 78, D4 got a 76. All above 75 and are not halo forza or sunset.
Sounds like the real time is with actors like a movie, or in this case the tv show episodes. where as cgi would be the actors acting like in a gears of war or any game that utilizes face and motion tracking but uses the image of the in game character opposed to the people acting. cgi is neo in the matrix/ computer world, and real time is him walking around the ship
i played a game that was built for the hololens demo and it was just like that. all 4 walls, the ceiling and the floor had enemies pop out in random places and you had to move your body and head to position yourself to shoot them but that was a tech demo don't think streaming from x1 would allow that.

@Elgrdo, thats funny how you miss interpret what they said. The article stated that they did that to get a feel of how the hardware work so it made it easier for the to build fallout 4 having a idea of how their engine worked on the current console configurations. Which saved them time.
@friedgoat, stop talking BS and learn to use your device. if u have kinnect all you have to do is say "xbox record that" or double tao the xbox button n press x or y ( one is for a screen shot and the other is to record the last 30 seconds. you only have to open the dvr when u want to record a long video.
thats so true, when i first got it i never had any problems with the voice and gesture, then as the updates rolled out it got dumber and dumber.
the gestures didn't work 100% of the time, neither does the voice but its around 85% while gestures was 55-60%. but i did like the ability to move around the interface like in sci-fi movies. hopefully now the voice becomes more responsive and intuitive. cant wait for cortana
i heard november 12, and the 360 game with gold should be playable on x1
titan fall 2 revealed its sales number and they were very good. the reason is because it was never supposed to be a exclusive, respawn was making it as multi plat but ea made it a exclusive because of the money and the belief that xbox as gonna continue its winning ways and dominate playstation.
Thats one way f looking at it, but if they also allowed pc games to bee playable on said upgradeable xbox then it would be a win win situation. I magian playing all dx12 games on pc with the option of playing it on xbox as well.
