there was a lot wrong with this review, but let's look at apostrophes just in the first few paragraphs.
"outside of it’s visuals"
"excellent in it’s execution."
"concerning it’s story and features"
We all know KZ2 is great. We don't need another generic, poorly-written blog submitted and approved.
much like you can run linux and cluster ps3s over ethernet, you should be able to cluster cells and gpus over a hi speed interface like QDR infiniband. A game will will scale to the number of "modules" it finds.
this review has nothing new, lacks any real or artificial intelligence. see? anyone can write stuff on the internet :)
seriously, if you cannot handle the inertia (which rewards smooth and subtle aiming), you are not evolving your game playing skills.
the controls are different.. some might even call them innovative..
i am sure someone has said, 'well, i wish KZ was more innovative.. and I also wish it had controls like COD'. :)
i have no problem with supporting criterion by buying their DLC. i have more of an issue giving money to MS :)
standard def -
PAL is 720x576 (25Hz)
NTSC is 720x486 (29.97Hz)
I remember when my friend first got his xbox 360. He was saying how good the graphics were on his HD TV. I went around to have a look and I found that the xbox 360 was still set to SD. :)
the point being - a lot of gamers cannot recognise (or even care about) the finer technical details.
you'll need some reason to keep playing R2 :)
KZ excels in everything is does as a FPS. Sure, gamers with poor hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity might not appreciate this brilliant FPS, just like gamers that tried playing Fallout 3 as a FPS would not appreciate Fallout 3s brilliance.
but yeah, it would be great if i could be the wind in KZ2 (ala flower), or at least a force that guided bullets around Helghan. this would create great contrast to the fast-paced action. yin yang if you like.
it would play...
guitar hero, DDR, wiimote and balance board etc. There is only so much you can do with the current controllers. games get better graphics, bigger production values etc, but underneath the same gameplay mechanics are there.
with stereoscopic gaming, head-tracking controllers or VR immersion helmets (rememeber them?) are what we will be seeing. we will have to make do with this until games hook directly into our central nervous system. you won't see comments on n4g regarding frame...
more than 3 shakes is a wank
we form our own opinions. you will favour reviews that match your opinion.
that being said, reviews should be as informed and objective as possible, but that is rarely the case!
actual scores are a farce, especially if only an overall score is given. most games tend to have a few redeeming factors that we should respect :)
if you like sloppy seconds that is.
ah yes, those were the days! old fashioned alpha male. not like today where it's who can get the strongest rohypnol.
this really is a topic for christian gamer.
yes, this article is inciting superlative hyperbole :)
yes, you kill/mame people in games, but they are the bad guys and you are saving the world. (most of the time)
raping a woman is disturbing any way you look at it - even if you are using the innovative F*ckIT controls (it is literally point and penetrate).
I've heard that in japan that you can go to theme brothels eg. one might be set like a public train, where you can play out one of your repressed rape fantasies. the problem is right there.. this is the society we ...
you are a comet. one gameplay mechanic is running rings around planets using the gravity of celetial bodies to sling shot further into space. get too close and you can crash into the surface of planets causing tidal waves and quakes, wiping out entire species. now you put the pedal to the metal and become a terraformer.. then you can fly back into space, breaking the physical dimension and are allowed to explore the dreamlike astral planes until finally shaking hands with god (in a metaphoric...
this is talkback radio. during the approval stage, we should be able to mark articles as actual news, or as sensationalist blogs. it would be easier to filter out the tabloid/wannabes than having to click or at least hover over the link to find out.
today's 'legit' gaming journalists already have bad enough of a reputation!
videos stored on the hard drive stream to the psp no problem via remote play. however, it doesn't stream DVDs or BDs. (unless you rip the DVDs) I guess this DRM related..
i'd carry my psp around more if it had a built-in phone and camera :)
it was quite a benign post really. It wasn't a personal attack on KZ2 - it was more about his recent (and slightly flawed) insights as a virgin..
actually, i think i have just been blinded by the beauty of his web site!
that's why we played this game more than pac-man!
