Even if Sony dominates the software will remain competitive. A man still would argue that developers want to make the best game possible and even if Sony dominates hardware, one developer still needs to compete for sales on that platform with the other devs. A man doesn't see that changing and would look to PS2 to see a console that dominated yet had the most compelling software lineup of all time. Perhaps they will come out with different models and have the games be adjustable. Then have some components which are locked in (basically everything other than GPU and RAM being locked in) so as to keep upgrading simple.

A man knows 3 Xbox fans personally who are switching. They don't frequent gaming sites other than Twitch. A man also hasn't heard any stories of PS3 owners switching to Xbox.
