I can't really see any harm in them anyway, unless you go overboard and spend time doing something you hate just for that one trophy.

their's plenty of games that i wouldn't have played without trophies, and some games i wouldn't have played as much.
I think the standard might have slipped eever since ps+ was needed for online play
if the games weren't great before that, nobody would get it, but now that it is needed for online play, they don't need to try as hard.
