I didn't know that. I thought sony were trying to attract both. Microsofts's Natal is the hardware that only allows for basic games. Sony's hardware is the equivalent of a mouse, allowing for both hardcore and casual games. They could even use move to play a hardcore game like Starcraft.

Are your dumb? Sony and other businesses also make portable multimedia devices. Myself? I have a Sony Walkman, a great piece of technology, has limited moving parts, thus an extended battery life and a rugged outer shell, nearly impossible to accidently break. Both Ipod and Zune are quite inferior products. (In everything bar sales for the Ipod.)

Obliviously their prerogitive is to the casuals first as that sells consoles, but they are also catering to the hardcore, this is because this segement of the gaming market are who buy the most games. You can see Sony catering for the hardcore in them upgrading all their previous games for move support, bringing out GT with move, and showing games like Starcraft can be played with move.
