Actually, this was from the latest Bungie update:

So, no, there is no closed beta right now. I wasn't even referring to the public beta. The game has not entered the beta phase, public or internal.
Bungie hasn't even entered the beta phase of development, so unless this is from the future, it is a complete fabrication.
If gas runs out, our cars cannot run. If you run out of money, you cannot get gas and run the car you already paid money for.
If electricity goes out, so does our TVs, air conditioning, video games, etc. We pay for all those things.
The matchmaking and party system were so great in Halo 2 that MS made it the backbone of Live. And it is one of the features that Live members love most.
