I like the fact that Nintendo added a feature to the Gamepad controller, which can also function as a main remote control for the user's tv set.
Nintendo's bringing back the pager! (lol, maybe the N4G crowd is too young to remember those xD).
So was the N64, though the majority of consumers didn't believe so (hardware sales for the Gamecube and N64, pailed in comparison to the Wii). Sega is a good example of "what to do if you want to exit the hardware race", Sony totally steam rolled them, and Nintendo wasn't doing that well either (their handheld platform [Gameboy] kept them elevated though).
And I really don't get all this Wii hate. "Not all games use motion controls", "some t...
You deserved it (kidding :P).
As the Wii proved: the majority of consumers wanted to experience compelling software (though some uniqueness to a console's hardware, can also be a good thing). The Wii U may not be as powerful spec-wise as it should be, but it's a really balanced console, and developers have stated that it's fairly easy to develop for.
Maybe Epic can wait, but I'm purchasing a Wii U this holiday season.
@Dark1...
$250 seemed a little excessive to me (although it came did come bundled with a 2 gig sd card, 2 gigs of flash of memory, pre-installed software, the ability to play NDS software, and a pack of AR cards).
"Apparently the console is a “dream” to develop for because the system architecture is so “simple” and “easy”, allowing developers to get games “up and running” incredibly fast."
ish just got real... good!
Is it fair to assume that certain Wii U software titles, will be digitally released only?
That's an aspect about the Wii U developers should take advantage of.
At least there's some variation between Nintendo's, Sony's, and Microsoft's Mii characters.
For instance - are all PS360 mutiplatform titles considered the same? (performance wise) I've read articles on how the Skyrim edition on the PS3, suffers from a few issues (though they might have been alleviated now).
Was that Gearbox employee being sarcastic when he stated that the Wii U has a great CPU?
I'm primed for the WIi U's launch. I need to buy a bigger external HDD, and save up a little bit more for Wii U software.
Using an Ellipsis to demonstrate my failure... :(
Though Crackle (owned by Sony) is a media streaming service that can be used on the Xbox 360, and Vita use's Skype (Which Microsoft owns).
The only reason I think (or thought, lol) the Yahoo group is playing a part in the Wii U's online infrastructure, is because at the end of every Yahoo article, they ask: "How does this story make you feel?", which the user could reply with emoticons (face smilies). I believe there's a feature similar to that on the Wii ...
It's a Nintendo Wii game, developed by Monolith Soft.
Remember that statement by Iwata, about how they were gonna get help outside the company to build the Wii U's online infrastructure?
I believe that company may be, Yahoo (just my personal suspicion).
The Last Story is a new IP. Exclusive rights is owned by Nintendo.
Wii U owners will be able to play original Wii games, directly on the Gamepad controller.
I can play with my Wii, in bed (no pun intended).
If there is an online mode :P.
And gas stations use, know as "spotpass."
It makes paying for items a lot more convenient, and has a few other benefits.
Backwards compatibility. Everything else is an added bonus.
Though people (the non liking Nintendo N4G community) wouldn't consider them, "New characters by Nintendo."
Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony create new IPs because they want the exclusives that'll entice consumers to buy their hardware. The reason why Nintendo isn't as "new IP generating" as Sony, is because they innovate their existing ones (I'm not implying Sony does the opposite), and their IPs are well recognized.
Then I'll be looting in Heroes of Ruin!
