I berate it for very good reason having loved UC2 to death then being let down with quite a few things on UC3. Reason 1, I bought the season pass and the definition of map-pack meaning plural as you would expect was forgotten in one of the offerings. Reason 2, UC3 is very heavily based on micro-transactions and its laughable that the lead director apologised for this in a joking way! Reason 3, UC3 continued DLC almost straight away after the season pass ended and if you total the amount of it...
Oh great they are excited about extracting more money out of us by bringing out a pink baseball cap for Sully? Please this director of UC3 needs to work for Activision.
Yeah I lost interest in UC3 much quicker than UC2. I remember playing survival mode (another thing that irritated me you couldn't just pick this mode) and you'd have no lives so once you were dead that was it! I miss being told how many headshots I could get with the FAL too! The overall experience of this multiplayer really ticks me off because you can feel that another team made this and I think they don't represent what the brand was about. End of rant ha!
The way I see the new Hitman game its like a cross of Batman meets Deus meets Assassins creed meets Max Payne. I think if some people went back to the old games you'd see their obvious flaws. The new Hitman encourages replaying a single player game over and over which is good! The presentation is superb and atmosphere. Moving in and out of cover is almost seamless, the game has many ways to complete a level and gets you to think. I for one think Hitman was always about stealth and find it...
I totally agree with you on the UC2 multiplayer! I think the multiplayer was actually more challenging, more enjoyable and more of a visceral experience. Just look at the character models and other gimmicks they threw in just to gain more cash. I guess this is the way game companies think and will continue to do business.
I am looking forward to the Last of Us and I hope the multiplayer is co-op based :)
I wonder what would happen if I said Halo 4 is -1000000 out of 10? Carnage? (I am joking by the way). Anyway after that hyperbole, how I see it those who will already have purchased Halo 4 or those considering to purchase it will have some form of emotional attachment, or some form of developing attachment to the game. It is very difficult to have an objective view of a game because you base your experiences on what you have played in the past. This applies to those reviewers who are paid to ...
Some analyst's need to be quiet and stop making comments on the back of huge brands to increase their profiles. GTA is one of those products which will sell like hotcakes irrespective of release date and timing. Obviously, Take two does need to keep shareholders happy but if I held significant stocks, I'd be reassured knowing that GTA is soon to come out either this financial year or the next.
Holy mother of Hitman! Would like to setup stupid challenges like complete levels just using bricks :)
I am sure Bethesda would want to earn more money across multi-platforms and it must be down to some weird problem. I do think we as consumers have got to start voting with our feet by not buying buggy unfinished games. It seems every game has its issues to some degree (sometimes acceptable), but we should send a message to those developers that we will no longer accept it!
Gold is easy dude! You wanna be doing Plat matches :) I can't believe you would spend so much money just to get unlocks. Ps I can do Plat with a level 1 :)
Am I missing something here? Nothing is free because you have to purchase the game. What I do see is a clever marketing ploy to get me and others to purchase the game :)
Hmm couldn't read this article, but what I did notice is that coheasive isn't a word! I think Uncharted 3's approach with micro-transactions is pretty damn right greedy - seeing as ND already offered a season pass to extend the longevity of the game and also make some money at the same time. I was okay with this at the beginning seeing as the perceived value of maps and skins was acceptable. Now ND are pretty much telling their gamers we don't really care about you we just wan...
Very impressive, the voice acting is simply superb. You can hear the nervousness in his breathing when he is trying to avoid/encounter enemies.
I do feel sad that the talent of ND were allocated to this project and led to UC3 being a bit of a mish mash and a game that I didn't nearly enjoy as much as UC2! I will however forgive ND when I get to finally play the Last of Us :)
Innovation is marketing spiel surely not? When do you not hear a software company not talk about pushing the engine or innovating this or that. I think it is naive to think that ANY firm would make a decision solely in the interest of the gamer? Think about when Gabe refused to make Portal on the PS3 because of its infrastructure?
I do agree with some of your assumptions, however it is proven that consoles make millions and the increasing push for micro-transactions, season p...
Looks good, looking forward to the skills, guns and enemies :) Oh almost forgot ...COOP too!
Epic cheating spoils the challenge of the game. Oh look I can use a missile over and over again! Makes me sad really I have had some hard slogs with PUGS on Glacier and usually comeout successful! The developers need to monitor mad scores and I am kind of sad the new missile launcher doesn't seem as powerful as it used to be either. Damn you cheaters!
I think the article does point out an interesting point. What's even more amazing UC3 has already had a season pass which I assume was a success.
I feel UC3 is a little rushed in some areas such as the character models which are low-res in contrast to UC2 multi. For some reason we are not given the option to play survival for 10 waves or gold rush!! And to top it off I suspect this team is new to ND as the others are working on the Last of us.
On a final...
I agree some of the storyline was questionable but how can marketing or lack of it really impede the quality of a game?!!! Uncharted 2 got less marketing from what I recall. I'd say the things that let UC3 if anything, was seeing the multi-player component as a business-model which was a pity. If you think about it the characters in multi-player are low-res in comparison to UC2. You could argue this was for customisation etc - but some customisation already existed in UC2 with different c...
I want it now!
Mass effect 3?
