People don't understand that this is not a remaster, it is a remake. Things are subject to change. But typical gamers will complain about whatever those things are, no matter how good they might be.
^No, it wasn't. The first Gears was, they slowly drifted away from the Dark nature of the game as the series progressed. The Dark mechanic of the first game didn't even take heed in the 2nd game, like the Kryll playing a factor in the 1st game, there was nothing relative to that in the 2nd game.

If online services are the reason for people buying consoles, the X1 would be beating the PS4 in sales. If Sony first party games were as dependent on online play as MS first party exclusives, PSN would have a better infrastructure by now. Most of Sony's 1st/2nd party games aren't interconnected games like Gears/Halo/Forza, etc, so it hasn't been prioritized. But, that doesn't mean improvements aren't being made.

That's the problem with gamers now. Everything is subjective and revolves around you, as an individual consumer, as opposed to the community. So many of you feel entitled. "Hey, I don't like this feature so it sucks, get rid of it and give me what *I* want!" Yeah, it's not like you're a part of a community or anything.
PCSX2 barely does it, and with poor accuracy & efficiency. PS2 emulation is harder than it sounds. It takes a lot of time and work, and it's just not worth the risk of making it a priority over PSNow.
Gamers seem to be completely clueless on this subject. People seem to think Remasters and BWC are in the same playing field; they aren't.
As for people making the "I shouldn't have to rebuy a game I own" argument: You aren't being forced to buy a game you already own. If you sold your console, that is entirely your fault.

I'm laughing as I read these "gen 8 is underpowered' comments. Wait until devs actually get some experience with these consoles under their belt. I'm sure in 2006 nobody saw games like UC3/RDR/GTAV/Alan Wake coming.
